DMN Blog: Look for NFL to fine Jay Ratliff

At some point this week I would expect the NFL to send a FedEx package to Jay Ratliff informing him of a fine for a roughing-the-passer penalty on Donovan McNabb in Sunday's loss at Washington.

Ratliff lunged at McNabb's legs as the quarterback was completing a pass to Santana Moss.

"The guy pushed him from the back and even if he pushes you, you've got to stay up," coach Wade Phillips said.

Justin Tuck - without being pushed - hit Matt Moore low. If he's not fined and Ratliff is, it would be outrageous. IMO, Tuck purposely went low to send a message.

DMN is digging through the trash for stories. You figure after that loss, they would have way more to discuss than pulling this garbage out of their butts.

No way he gets fined for that play. I thought the call itself was questionable. It's not like he had any choice in the matter.

He's saying that even if you're pushed into the QB's legs, it's a penalty. If anything, he's hinting that the new "Brady Rule" is a complete joke. Which it is.
