Looking at the 2010 schedule

Because it's never too early to talk about 2010, let's look at the Cowboys' schedule next year:

We know about the three NFC East foes they play twice a year. Chicago, Detroit, Jacksonville and Tennessee will make trips to Cowboys Stadium. The only game left open is against an NFC South foe and depends on where the Cowboys finish in the standings.

If they beat Philly Sunday and win the NFC East, then New Orleans will come to town. If they lose and finish second, then it's either Atlanta or Carolina coming to town for a second straight year. My guess is Atlanta because the Falcons close the year vs. Tampa Bay.

On the road, the Cowboys go to Green Bay (again), Minnesota, Houston, Indianapolis and the corresponding NFC West team, either Arizona (if they win the division) or San Francisco (if they finish second).

It use to be Detroit we would play every year. Now it's Green Bay.

That is shaping up to be a ridiculously hard schedule. They better go get a FA receiver that can make plays if they want to be a playoff team next year.

The week leading up to the game with the Texans will be the week from Hell for those of us who live in Houston.

I'm pretty sure we have enough fire power at Wide Receiver to beat any team on the schedule in 2009 and 2010.

Either way, I am going. Both are about 6 hour drives for me.

No but an overall schedule that includes Jax, Tenn, possibly NO, GB, Minn, Indy, and possibly Ariz in addition to 2 games against philly, nyg, and a skins team not coached by Zorn looks like it could be very tough to me. Maybe you didn't notice but Jax is not a very bad team and Tenn underacheived and could very well be much improved next year.

Yes, it is too early to look at 2010 schedule, and try to predict how the games will go.

We're not even done with this year yet, we have no idea what the teams will be like next year!

I'm hoping Cowboys-Saints or Cowboys-Eagles for Thanksgiving.

I prefer to play bottom-feeders, that way we dont have much of a chance to lose.

I still remember the Vikings game of 98. I was pissed off the rest of the day around family. I'd prefer to be happy...save the pissed off days for when I'm at home by myself.

That's what we said last year. Get a WR in free agency or the draft. Jerry did neither. He traded for Roy11. I wish we had those picks back.

are you kidding? A healthy Cowboy team goes 11-5 easily. Not to mention Jenkins will be better. Spencer will be better. Felix will be better. Free will be better. Bennett will be better. Romo to Roy BETTER be better. Ogletree will be more involved. And I think Romo has another level he can reach. If EVERYONE else stays the same and we add some speed at WR and ILB we will be a handful for ANYBODY.

And maybe more important than all of that is Austin's first camp as starter.

I think Roy & Romo's 2nd camp together is big as well.

The 4 LB's we drafted last year go through their 2nd camp (more pressure).

First time Bobby goes into camp having played meaningful snaps (more confidence).

Hell, I think the entire team can look at the positives from this year and come in with confidence know they have quited a lot of the naysayers.

My thought also. Indianapolis, Houston, and Minnesota are all domes though, and Arizona too if they go there. That will help some. But every road game is a tough opponent Assume they split those games, and split the Eagles and Giants, there's 4 or 5 losses, and New Orleans at Dallas could be a loss also.

Roy Williams is definitely a liability now, and hopefully Jerry bites the bullet and either drafts a WR who can start, or trades for one. Wouldn't a DeSean Jackson look good in Dallas?

The week leading up will be bad.. no doubt about it, but if by some chance we lose to the Texans.. I won't be able to leave my house for the week after that game. I still hear about the first game they every won.. every single week. Texan fans can be so stupid.

I agree as far as I'm concerned that is a must win for us. Considering we only play Houston every blue moon you would think there was a real rivalry yet that really only exist in the minds of Houston football fans who have played 2nd fiddle to the Cowboys when it comes to Texas Football thus their hate for us is beyond anything I have seen from others.

You make some good points. Scandrick should also push Newman, perhaps pushing Newman to free safety.

I'd like to see Brewster emerge and push Kosier. Kosier does alright, but one more year on his chassis isn't going to do him any good. Colombo will be back, and is servicable for a couple more years, but Free has proven he can do the job, and he should push Flozell. I don't think any of the backup linemen can be expected to emerge as starters.

I'm not happy with Barber III either. He isn't hitting the holes like he used to, and these delayed draws into the line for no gain are getting old. Perhaps its time to draft another running back. I do believe Jones and Choice can handle the load. Barber is getting the PT because he is getting paid like a starter.

Am I wrong to think Brady James is average? He had a good game against Washington, but he hasn't been dominant much this year. Brooking is getting a little old for this game, for the position he plays. Who takes his place? Has Carpenter, or can Carpenter, take his place next year? Carp plays mostly in passing situations.

I think Hamlin also needs to be reconsidered for next year., Dallas hasn't had a dominant safety since Woodson. Hamlin doesn't bring much anymore.
