I think Wiley is on to something, but he didn't quite get it right.

It's the S&C Coaches job to get them in shape in the offseason. But the S&C coach doesn't decide what their workload is DURING the season (including training camp).

If the cowboys are getting winded now, it Wade's fault, not the S&C coach. Wade decided to run camp cupcake. Wade decides to lighten their practices (considerably) during the season. Wade decides to get guys multiple days off during thanksgiving.

Yes, part of it is the cowboys are "out of shape". But that's on Wade.

Edit: And for the record, I'm not saying that conditioning is the ONLY problem. Only part of the problem, which stems from Wade... the biggest problem.

It's too bad cuz Wade has got the D playing pretty good. If only he had some cojones, we'd have ourselves a good HC.

Wasn't Marcellus Wiley the guy Bill Parcells called into his office and asked him was he on drugs :) ?

The Cowboys problems in December have nothing to do with conditioning.

I went to Jr. High with Marcellus. He's a very smart guy is actually taking graduate classes at Harvard.

I think Marcellus has a point. And to the guy on this thread who said "It's the players, Marcellus". Which players were here when the streak started? Marcellus' point is that everything has turned over since 96 except for Juresic (sp?) and Jerry Jones.

There have been two constants in Jerry and Juraszek - he just picked the wrong constant.

To me, the constant has been an inconsistent running game. When you can't run in bad weather, it puts a lot of stress on the passing game - this can lead to a lot of mistakes. The reason why I blame Jerry is that much of the blame falls on the lack of his scouting team's ability to find OL in the draft over several years now.

One other thing about recent history - I don't think Romo is a good cold-weather QB. It is odd since he came from Wisconsin, but I still think there might be something to this. Some of his performances in good weather late in the year have been pretty typical Romo. However, if the weather is really off, he also tends to become inaccurate. Aikman had similar problems with rain. It may be a good thing for us that the new stadium is a dome.
