I still maintain that Spears is underrated. He's a guy you can win with.

I agree. He's very solid against the run and it is hard enough to get sacks as a DE in a 3-4, even harder when you are pulled on passing downs. I really wish he would show some desire. A great place for him on passing downs would be moving inside to DT since they usually move to a 4 man front.

I don't think Spears has played as badly as some are trying to make out. We couldn't have been such a good run stopping team with a lame LDE. He just hasn't been the playmaker he was at LSU. I think maybe he has focused so much on stopping the run, that he has focused so much on his assignment, it has effected his pass rush.
Now, he figures he has nothing to lose, so I think we will see a monster year from Spears, where he seeks to disrupt the backfield whether run or pass.

They all should have an attitude. They got their SB aspirations handed to them last year and worst of all by the NYG.

The guy "got his money" and then strapped on the feed bag and has talked a big game ever since. He's a good solid back-up on this team.

After all his talk last year, I got no respect for him at all. He isgoing to have to put up real numbers this year to make up for all the empty talk.

He's got two years left on his contract, plus a voidable year in 2010.

You are right. I don't know why I thought he had one year left. I am trying to figure out how we can lock up Ware, Tank, Canty, Spears and Hatcher.
