Things start sizzling today when the Cowboys arrive at Point Mugu Naval Base around 4:15 p.m. Central.

Here are some things to look for when the team gets off the plane.

1. Terry Glenn. Will he be here? His agent is still talking to the team

2. Felix Jones and Mike Jenkins. The first round picks are still in talks with the team about getting their contracts done. Cowboys have offered five-year deals to each

3. Martellus Bennett. The second-round pick from Texas A&M is close to a deal and could make his flight to Calif.

4. How's the attitude of Greg Ellis and Roy Williams. Yes, this is an old story, but Ellis demanded to be traded a few years ago when he got off the plane here. He was upset with getting moved from end to outside linebacker. Ellis then stopped practicing during the off-season workouts this year because he was concerned about a lack of practice time. But after a talk with Wade Phillips, things seem to be OK now.

Williams is another story. He voiced concern about his role in the defense and that prompted a meeting with defensive coordinator Brian Stewart and safety coach Brett Maxie. Williams should be OK, but we'll find out.

5.HBO cameras. We wonder just how many cameras will be on the plane filming every move of the Cowboys for Hard Knocks.

Beat writers' notes: News conference at 6 p.m. Central with Jerry Jones and Wade Phillips and we'll update you guys on what's being said.

Don't expect Terry Glenn to come to Cali

So says early-rising blogger Jean-Jacques Taylor.

Glenn will obviously be the big story today, and we'll cover this saga until it reaches a conclusion. However, I know a lot of folks would rather read about the progress of Sam Hurd, Miles Austin, Isaiah Stanback, etc.

That's why I'm proud to announce that the Young WR Report will be a daily staple on this here blog. We'll also have Play of the Day and Player of the Day. Feel free to offer any other suggestions.

I get the feeling Glenn is history.

I don't think we should let him play until the playoffs, and only then IF we need him. By not playing Glenn all season we can see if the young pups develop and fill that void. If that happens then we won't need Glenn for the playoffs either. But if the void is still there come playoff time, then we can call on a healthy Glenn to step in.

Did you not see what happened last year?

Glenn was horrible when he came back after not playing all year.

Either play him all year like always or cut him ...... its that simple.

This has got to be one of the more irrational thoughts I've read on here. So essentially you're saying lets see if the young WRs suck enough during the regular season and then bring Glenn back? Here's an idea. Let's rest all of our starters the entire regular season and then bring them back for the playoffs. Makes not sense at all.

Now, if we cut Glenn and at some point during the regular season he's still available, then I would think about picking him up. But, to have him on the roster and pay him "just-in-case" money is ludicrous.

I agree.

And this is what I thought was going to happen.

It's obvious to me that if he's unwilling to assume equal risk by signing the split contract that his talk of being healthy is just that - talk.

And he knows he won't be able to hold up in training camp.

Trouble is, Jerry knows it too.

This isn't what I had hoped would happen, but what the realist in me thought would.

I still hope I'm wrong.

Yep-we got lucky Corey Webster dropped that pass. Otherwise, he had daylight ahead of him.

It was obvious on that play Glenn's knees were DONE. If he continues to play, you can bet he'll do even more slipping and sliding.
