** Everybody saw what Gerald Sensabaugh means to this defense. He was all over the field. He did an excellent job on Tony Gonzalez but he had two other "big" plays in my view that went unnoticed. He broke up a short pass to Verron Haynes in the first half and then he dropped Eric Weems short of a third down when the score was 10-7. He seems to have a knack for the big play.
** Bobby Carpenter earned Wade Phillips' praise on Monday. The coach said Gonzalez didn't catch a pass on Carpenter all day. Carpenter was aggressive on him at the line of scrimmage and he kept his feet active. Before the snap Carpenter would start running in place so he wouldn't be at a standstill, allowing him to stay with Gonzalez. He was so focused on Gonzalez once, however, he let Jason Snelling slip outside for a long run.
** It sure looked like there was a lot of confusion on Atlanta's last touchdown. Stephen Bowen was standing up at the snap. DeMarcus Ware was stuck in the middle of the field. Sensabaugh looked out of sorts. And Weems, who was lined up in the backfield, broke free for an easy touchdown pass from Matt Ryan. It didn't look like the Cowboys got the fourth-down call in on time, which was an issue vs. New York earlier.
** Did John Abraham play? He was lost in coverage twice vs. Jason Witten and Martellus Bennett. He didn't really sniff Tony Romo, which means Flozell Adams had a good day. But Abraham flipped sides too and didn't do much vs. Marc Colombo either.
** Patrick Crayton's punt return was a thing of beauty but Deon Anderson might have gotten away with a block in the back on Tony Gilbert. Tight end John Phillips did a great job of shielding Kroy Briermann and Terence Newman lit up Jason Snelling to spring Crayton free.
