Maybe the most intriguing development to emerge from the Ranch over the last couple weeks is the evolution of a defense.

"We're getting enough things that we can give the offense some problems when they try to change things. I feel more and more comfortable with it."

Meh. Dime's worth of difference.

Until the Jason Campbell's and Aaron Rodgers of the world stop lighting us up, I'm not sold on this Defense.
I'm confident that once Henry is back in the starting line up, our secondary will get better. Reeves is doing pretty decent but he is no Henry. Even without him, our secondary isn't doing too bad, not great but good enough to win games.

This defense has definitely improved, but it's not quite at championship level yet. Almost, but not quite.

I think our biggest improvement has been putting pressure on the QB. I don't care if all of your CBs and safeties are pro-bowlers, if you can't pressure the QB you're going to have problems.

It doesn't matter what the numbers say, it's how you perform in crucial situations. If an opposing QB goes 10/30 with 3 INTs but those 10 completions went for touchdowns or set up touchdowns that cause you to lose the game, then numbers are a moot point.

Yes, Jason Campbell only had 6.7 ypa but he drove the field all day long and if it weren't for Newman saving the day we very well could have lost. Hell, even after the Newman interception the foreskins still had a shot at winning. Then you have Aaron Rodgers, who had never played a meaningful snap in the NFL in his career come in and pick us apart. That's not championship caliber defense, no matter what the numbers say.

If I'm so pretty, why am I available?

Exactly what I was trying to get at.
