Patrick Crayton not talking vindication

Since the Cowboys' last game, Patrick Crayton lost his starting wide receiver spot and his punt return job.

He responded with the third two-touchdown game of his career. He caught a 5-yard touchdown pass from Tony Romo to close the first half and he closed out the game with a 73-yard punt return that made it 34-14 with 8:38 left to play.

But Crayton was not gloating or feeling vindicated.

"I'm pleased that we got the win," Crayton said. "That's what matters."

He was also glad to get the first punt return score of his career, going untouched through a gigantic hole up the middle of the field.

"I can sleep better tonight because of that," Crayton said. "I was pressing to get one because I really wanted to get one for Joe D. [special teams coach Joe DeCamillis]. You break your neck and don't miss a practice? That tells you something about the man."

Roy Williams upset with himself

Roy Williams was in a Michael Jackson mood after the game at least in dress.

He was sporting a Michael Jackson t-shirt and black pants that barely went to his ankle revealing white socks. He even had a red leather jacket complete with zippers everywhere and a red and black fedora.

As sharp as he dressed, he wasn't as sharp on the field.

"Worst game ever in my life," Williams said.

Williams had one catch for 16 yards and not much else.

"Two drops, pass interference," Williams said, shaking his head.

He thanked Miles Austin, who caught six passes for 171 yards and two scores, for saving him.

"I felt food out there," said Williams, who was playing with extra protection around his sore ribs. "I don't know if I was a little rusty being out for two weeks, but what a good football team we got? That's all I can say."

Roy should be past the anger stage and into the realization stage. He sucks, end of story.

I don't think he's horrible, I think he just tries to force it every time because he gets so few opportunities.

Roy Williams says all the right things. I'm trying hard not to turn on him but catch the damn ball.

And yeah, Roy, you didn't play too stellar today. Fix this and move forward.

hmmm.... Hopefully Roy is turning over a new leaf here and is ready to contribute on whatever way he can - running the tough over the middle routes and snagging the ball for firsts while allowing Austin to work more on deeper routes. If he'll accept his new role and sacrifice his body to make tough catches we could have ourselves a good complimentary WR for Austin. I'm still skeptical that he can accept such a role though.

Impressed with Crayton this past week, and I used to not be able to stand the guy. Class act now days.

As far as Roy, I think he will start putting it together. Austin turning it on is really going to help, IMO.

And as far as Terrance Newman, I feel bad for the guy, he has had a solid career and has battled injuries off and on. Always been a class act and has played on some bad teams, probably entering the twilight of his career, hope he turns it around at some point, he deserves to go out on top, IMO.

Tnew is a great punt returner but he tried to take something that wasn't there on that return today. I also think he may have lost a step after all those leg injuries - mother nature catches up to all of us in the end.

Why do passes to Roy seem so off target? Is it bad throws by Tony or bad routes by Roy? Miles sure seems to be in the right place most of the time. Like someone else posted, hopefully Miles will open things up for Roy. Even then, we need him to catch the ball.

He doesn't sell his routes at all.

Now that he has lost a step and noone is worried about his deep speed, he'll have to work on getting in and out of his breaks quicker if he wants to be a possession guy. I really think he is done as he doesn't have the work ethic to re-invent himself.

The PI call was complete BS. WRs do that on almost every play. It's suppose to be okay as long as the arm isn't extended.
