We're going to start a steady stream of this tonight. First up, fourth-year linebacker Kevin Burnett.
His reaction initial to the Pacman Jones trade?
"It's not a big surprise, I kinda knew it was going to happen," Burnett said. "It's good for us, and it could be bad for everyone else that has to play the Cowboys."
Burnett did say that he isn't worried about the conduct issue. And he won't prejudge his new teammate, either.
"I don't think it matters, one way or the other," Burnett said. "The past is the past. The bottom line is the guy can play football."
But he added that, with the respect he's got for the player mentor Calvin Hill and the Cowboys staff, it'd better work here for Jones. Because if doesn't work in Dallas for him, it probably won't work anywhere.
"The staff is going to help him adapt to his environment," Burnett said. "We have a great staff in place, we have people in place to help him out. There's no reason he should fall short. And if he does, that's sad for him, because he has all the resources here to help him as a football player and a person. I accept him with open arms. I'm going to do everything I can help him stay out of trouble."

With the acquisition of Pacman Jones, the Cowboys' depth chart at cornerback now looks like this
Terence Newman
Anthony Henry
Pacman Jones
Alan Ball
Evan Oglesby
Quincy Butler
Tyler Everett
Justin Phinisee
Jerron Wishom
Only Henry and Newman played significant, meaningful snaps for the team defensively last year, and it should be expected that the trade for Jones will not affect the club's draft plans. But it was asked of Jerry Jones on Tuesday whether or not he felt like a team needed three starting level corners in today's NFL. He quickly agreed that to win a championship, it's best you do, considering how more and more teams are spreading field with receiver-heavy sets.
"I think you've got to have more than three," Jones said. "Sure, if you can get you three of that quality, then you've really done a good job. We try to strive for that."
Now, it seems like they've got what they've strived for.

Tim MacMahon E-mail News tips
The Pacman Jones trade might end up being a great deal for the Cowboys. He could be spectacular while filling two huge needs (cornerback and return man) if he can chip off the rust and manage to avoid the back seat of police cars.
But the Titans got a heck of a return, considering only one team would touch Pacman with a 10-foot pole (insert strip club joke here).
According to a source, the Cowboys will give up a fourth-round pick (the 126th selection overall) in this weekend's draft and could give up a 2009 draft pick depending on how much Jones plays this upcoming season. If he is not reinstated, the Titans would give a 2009 draft pick to the Cowboys.
This seems to be a case of Jerry falling in love with Pacman's talent and letting the Titans get leverage when they had no business doing so. At least he got some insurance in the deal, but Jerry didn't exactly drive a hard bargain for a guy bidding against himself.
