I have a strong feeling that the announcement that 105.3 The Fan will be the new radio flagship of the Cowboys will come by the end of the week.

Here's why: 105.3 and Texas Motor Speedway have signed a 5-year extension. TMS will be getting a rights fee as well as promotional inventory. That was announced today. I'm thinking that's for TMS allowing Cowboys games to horn in on dates that were once reserved for NASCAR.

The draft is Saturday and the Cowboys don't have a flagship. In years past, the Cowboys made special accommodations for The Ticket, their old home, to be the first to talk to draft picks. Making draft picks available to their new flagship is a fine way to start up a relationship.

I know Brad Sham has done draft reports for 105.3. I am told Cowboys insider Mickey Spagnola, once a Ticket staple, has been heard on 105.3 FM.

My math skills may be lousy when I'm doing an expense report but I think they are pretty good on this one.

 I figured this would be something about Ware getting his new deal.

Miller Lite and 105.3 The FAN present the 2009 Dallas Cowboys Draft Party, Saturday, April 25. Watch as Jerry Jones and the Cowboys make their moves for the future. Party alongside Dallas Cowboys players, the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, and fellow Cowboys fans.

Admission and parking are free. Doors open at 6:00 pm at the Arlington Convention Center.

During the draft, the party will have special live coverage from the Cowboys' "war room" at Valley Ranch," and attendees will know the Cowboys' pick before it's announced to the rest of the world in New York.

You may be onto something WG!

Good find, Mr Cowboy... I wonder who will be doing the draft coverage for The Fan? Norm gets weird as heck sometimes, but at least he's been covering the draft for decades and I do appreciate the homework he puts into it.

I hope it's not just Ben and Skin being goofballs for 12 hours.

Norm was on a podcast that theebs put up and he said he would be there and give good coverage of the draft too,
