Before I get to transcribing tape, here are some observations from what we saw at Wednesday's organized team activity workout:
** Last week Pacman Jones made news when he picked off passes in back to back OTAs. This week he made news for getting beat deep by Miles Austin on a Tony Romo throw. I said it before, but Austin could make a big jump this year. He got behind Jones, though Pacman was not that far out of position, and went up and got the ball before tumbling to the ground for a touchdown.
** Bobby Carpenter has made some plays during these OTAs. His best was a left-handed knock down of a Brad Johnson pass to Tashard Choice in the flat. Carpenter had an active practice.
** Tony Romo's prettiest throw was a bullet that he was able to get over linebacker Tyson Smith and dip down to a crossing Patrick Crayton. It was almost like a sinker in baseball.
** Pro Bowl tight end Jason Witten had the catch of the day, reaching back with his right arm to snag a Romo throw during 7-on-7 drills. Terrell Owens gave a loud yell to Witten for the grab. It was interesting to watch Witten and tight ends coach John Garrett work during special teams drills on releases off the line of scrimmage from a two-point stance.
** Linebacker Justin Rogers did a nice job of standing up Pro Bowl left tackle Flozell Adams on a Marion Barber run to the left to string the play out. But Adams just enveloped Rogers on the next pass rush giving Romo time for a completion.
** The two-minute drill was the focus at the end of practice. Romo directed the first-team offense against the backup defense to a touchdown to Witten. He completed 8-of-10 throws. Cornerback Quincy Butler picked off Brad Johnson to end the No. 2 offense's two-minute run, and the third-team offense led by Richard Bartel could not get into field goal range and was hounded by the No. 1 defense.

Love to hear that Carp is making plays.
