NT Jay Ratliff has put together a Pro Bowl-caliber season, racking up seven sacks and a team-high 25 QB pressures and wreaking havoc against the run. He'll find out tomorrow whether he'll get a ticket to Hawaii.

However, Ratliff isn't quite eagerly anticipating the Pro Bowl announcement.

"I'm not really keeping up with all that. On the real," said Ratliff, who wasn't among the top five NFC defensive tackles in the fan voting. "I'm gonna tell you this, I learned at a young age that what's out of my control is out of my control. I can't worry about that. I only care about one bowl, and that's the Super Bowl."

Not 'if' DeMarcus Ware breaks the record, it's 'when'

Sack specialist DeMarcus Ware had a good line today. He said he'll talk at length about breaking the NFL's single-season sack record "when I get it."

Notice he didn't say "if" he gets. Ware fully expects to match or blow past Michael Strahan's record of 22.5 sacks.

And Ware will be among the Cowboys who get the Pro Bowl nod at 3 p.m. Tuesday. While that's nice, Ware said he's thinking about another bowl.

"At the end of the day, they said the Pro Bowls are really individual things," Ware said. "The main thing is the Super Bowl. I just feel good when I say Super Bowl. I can say it again -- Super Bowl. That's what we're working toward."

He's improved every year.

8 sacks.... 11.5 sacks.... 14 sacks.... 19 sacks and counting.

Its amazing, really. Double digit sack totals the past 3 years. Special, special player.

Hope they don't get derailed. I really hope Philly loses before the end of the year. I just can't think about going up there and needing a victory. I have faith in them but it's not totally unshakeable. Sorry to have to admit it.

Sorry, got off topic. Yes Ratliff deserves to go to Hawaii and I'm glad they are focusing on the SB.

I like the fact that this team is talking "Super Bowl" again, especially since this time they're doing it with confidence, not arrogance.

Taking nothing away from Ware because he's my favorite player on the team and no one comes close. But let's give it up to Ratliff and Wade. Chargers haven't looked the same since Wade's departure. And Ratliff........he makes things easier for all of our linebackers.

No way. I hope Philly wins the next two. Nothing better than to see this team go there with TO and put them out of the playoffs in their own stadium.

I'd also dearly like to see this team finish just two games back of last year's record, with this schedule and this rash of injuries. Pretty impressive, if we can swing it.

I think the inside play of Jay Ratliff has helped him. Ellis is still there doing his thing too. If Dallas could find a legit big 3-4 NT and move Ratliff to DE fulltime, I think Ware could do this or better next season

Would Ratliff really be better at DE?

I'm not so sure.

He's be going against OT's for one thing.... his quickness inside is tough for OG/OCs to match up against.

Ratliff himself also said he prefers playing the Nose that he is not comfortable at DE

great mindset by our 2 best defensive players. Ratliff cares about the only bowl that matters, on the real. and Ware isn't thinking about if he breaks the record but when he breaks the record.

With Ellis and Canty picking it up the last few weeks, Ware just might be able to get there.

I love how Wade pointed out the NFL shorted him on a sack earlier in the year and that he should be at 20. If Ware ends up with 22 it is going to become a pretty big irritant when you consider Favre was gifted one by Strahan.

Actually, their defense was ballin from the middle of last year going on to the AFC championship.

The sack record should be 21.5. Remember Favre (being Strahan's friend) designed a play to give Strahan that last sack to break the record. It was so obvious. McNabb should do that for Ware. :)
