Much has been written about the Saints' quest for the undefeated season. A lot of these Cowboys have some experience in playing an undefeated team later in the year. It was when 9-0 Indianapolis visited Texas Stadium on Nov. 19, 2006 for Peyton Manning's one and only trip to Irving.

And the Cowboys won, 21-14.

On the Colts' second play, Bradie James forced a fumble. On the Colts' second series, DeMarcus Ware sacked Manning. But Indy had a 7-0 lead at halftime.

Then Kevin Burnett made his biggest play, returning an interception 39 yards for a tying touchdown. Marion Barber had two rushing touchdowns to put the game away.

But the formula was pretty simple: run the ball, be physical, play smart. The Cowboys ran the ball 36 times for 117 yards. Tony Romo completed 19-of-23 passes for 226 yards and they held the ball for 33 minutes, 42 seconds.

Manning finished 20 of 39 for 254 yards with two touchdowns and two picks.

That being a win people still hang their hats on 3 years later says alot about the state of this franchise.

running the ball and winning the time of possession will probably mean a loss in this game against the Saints. I agree with Nate when he says we must air it out and Romo needs to keep mistakes to a minimum.

we had a different head coach then.

2007 was not wades first year.

that was sparano pasquiliani and gibbs...those guys were carrying the team to 13-3 as well as the parcells environment.

we are getting worse every year since then.

we lost all of the parcells blood after 2007 and now we are getting worse and worse.

next year 5-11?

That's good stuff! Thanks Woody's Girl for sharing.
What's being missed by most while looking at the Saints is that Brees is capable of throwing to the other colored jersey. The Defense must capitalize on his mistakes - not just leading to stops on 3rd downs, but game/momentum changing turnovers.

36 runs and 23 passes?

Naw, we've been assured that could never work in today's NFL!

Unfortunately the Barber than is different than the Barber now.

The 06 game vs the colts has about as much meaning as the 06 game vs the Saints. None what so ever

that was a different team that won that game.

that was a team with an edge and playing with a sense of pride after discovering romo. They were a ticked off group having lost to washington on that crazy field goal block and then having beaten the cards and losing ellis. Kind of ironic we played that game without ellis, with ware being hurt this week.

I just dont see that same emotional level of play from these guys.

but on the bright sides, that emotional level is only one play away.

And Burnett is in San Diego.

Bryan Broaddus broke down burnett's play for the whole season last week on espn 1033.

he said he looked slow and not like the same guy he was here last year.

He even went as far as to say carpenter is better right now and the organization made the right move.

That wasn't the point. Barber isn't the same , he is in Dallas still and he scored twice. ALONG with Burnett returning in INT for a TD..

So, both players aren't what they were, not saying I want the guy back. He just made the play in 06

I think it's safe to say this is the first week all season where that stat line would be appropriate given our opponent.

But if we can't block well running the ball, it doesnt matter how many runs we call. We have to improve up front first and foremost while running the ball.

barber is the same. people have lost their minds with barber this week.

he didnt get in because the guys in front of him didnt do their jobs.

Not because he sucks and cant play and has lost all his abilities quicker than anyone has ever seen.

and the ball bounced to burnett, he didnt make a miraculous play, Aarron glen made the play if I remember off the top of my head.....are you going to complain because glenn is not here?

Obviously not as quickly as Burnett has in some folks eyes.

I am not complaining at all, Where do you get this ****?

I simply made a point that ONE of the players that MADE a play in that game is not here now. That is it.

I don't think Barber is done, I just don't think he should be the starter. I really don't think any of the RB's should be a starter. I also think that the O-line is in serious need of help.

He's not used the same, therefore he doesn't perform the same. There is a marked difference between his runs now, and during his Pro Bowl year.
