Pro Football Hall of Fame writer Rick Gosselin will make the presentation of Emmitt Smith for consideration to the selection committee on Saturday. In a chat on ***BANNED-URL*** Friday, he said his speech to convince the committee voters won't take long.

"My presentation will consist of two sentences," Gosselin said. "That should be enough. When you have a first-ballot Hall of Famer, you shouldn't have to say much. And I won't."

If he has to "convince the committee voters" that Emmitt Smith is a first ballot HOFer, then I would suggest those "committee voters" are bigger idiots than I imagined.

That was basically the presentation speech for John Elway (Woody Paige stood up and said, "Gentlemen, I give you John Elway"), and Emmitt is even more of an obvious choice than Elway was.

This was told by Goose this week on one of the radio programs and I imagine this is basically where he got the idea from.

He said there was no use of wasting people's time by going on and on about Emmitt as he is a sure lock first time HOFer.
