If you're looking for a pre-season Cowboys fix, the team is holding a free open practice at Texas Stadium on Aug. 20 at 7 p.m. Gates open at 4:30.

There will be an autograph session with former players from 5:30-6:15 for selected fans featuring players like Bob Lilly, Russell Maryland, Cliff Harris and Walt Garrison. In addition to live entertainment and a performance by the cheerleaders, there will be in-stadium interviews.

The Cowboys last hosted a Texas Stadium practice in 1991. For more info, check out farewelltotexasstadium.com.

My round trip ticket from Hawaii would probably be about $2,000. But since admission is free I might be able to swing it.

I wish I could be there and get autographs from Lilly, Maryland, Harris and Garrison. If I ever move from Hawaii, I'm moving to Texas.

Farewell To Texas Stadium

The Dallas Cowboys are doing something they haven't done in 17 years. As part of their season long farewell to Texas Stadium, the team will host an open practice at the Irving venue that has been their home field since 1971. Fans are invited to the free event on Wednesday, Aug. 20.

The organization says there will be live-entertainment, performances by the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders and an autograph session with former Dallas Cowboys Players.

If you ever wanted to watch the Cowboys practice, you will get a special free chance on Wednesday, Aug. 20 at Texas Stadium.

In what will be the first in many farewells to the old hole in the roof, the Cowboys will practice from 7 -9 p.m. for fans. There will also be a special autograph session with former Cowboys from 5:30-6:15 p.m. It's the first time in 17 years practice has been open to the public.Here's a site devoted to Texas Stadium's final year.
