At least two rookies - Victor Butler and Mike Mickens - will not be in attendance at the organized team activities because their schools have not held graduation yet.

Mickens' teammate at the University of Cincinnati, DeAngelo Smith, will attend because he has already graduated.

Guard Kyle Kosier is not expected to participate either. He recently had screws removed from his surgically repaired foot. And kicker Nick Folk will not practice after recent hip surgery.

Punter Mat McBriar said Sunday he will be there. He has been punting for some time after fracturing his foot last October.

Stay tuned for more updates as we go. Practice starts at 10:30.

As we wrote earlier this morning, Nick Folk, Kyle Kosier, Mike Mickens and Victor Butler are not practicing.

Defensive end Jason Hatcher and defensive tackle Tim Anderson are also not working out.

Roy Williams is wearing his UT number (4) at practice but just for the day we are told.
With the special teams period over it looks as If Joe DeCamillis has left the grounds.

Our special teams will easily be our most improved unit next year.

Norris' touchbacks and a healthy McBriar are going to give us a lot of yards and field position that won't show up on the stat sheet.

If he has screws in his foot, it is a serious issue. If one breaks, he is out for the year again and his career is likely over. The fact he's broken the same foot twice should be very concerning. This is a meaningless non-contact OTA, no reason to rush him back.

This whole graduation BS is a total joke. considering how many players drop right out of school after football season ends. And how many of them never graduate. To keep them from practicing with their teams is an absolute joke.

I'm concerned about Kosier's career. A foot injury for a guy that size is nothing to take lightly. If he's got a chronic problem, our interior OL goes from being adequate to being thin really fast.

I haven't seen anything re: a prognosis for this injury. Has anyone else? Typically a fully-healed broken bone should be stronger than it was originally, no? Any inherent risk of re-injury, assuming the bone is fully healed by the time he returns to full contact?

Yeah, I don't like that the thing broke twice in such a short period of time. Hopefully this is purely precautionary, which it could very well be.

The screws have been removed, so maybe he'll be good to go.

What the NFL should do is allow make up with coaching staff for missed camps. In this situation.

Yet another reason why taking only one lineman in this past draft was worrisome.

They've certainly got more info than we have about the extent of Kosier's injury. If Brewster making it on the field this year is doubtful, it's not like anyone else we drafted after him would have helped. It makes missing on Unger more frustrating.

We got a capable player in Holland last year for a mid-round pick during TC, at least. There's always that option if we're really concerned about Kosier making it back.

I'm thinking their counting on Holland to push Kosier. That's if he can stay healthy as well.

If Montrae Holland wants to be a starter, he certainly has the ability to do it.

It's all a question of desire.

Is he content with collecting an NFL paycheck or does he want to play?

Kyle Kosier is a smart player who is good on the move and helping identify line responsibilities, but the staff has been toying with allowing someone to challenge him for three years.

Holland looks like he will get a legitimate chance to do it.

What will he do with the opportunity?
