We just got off the conference call with Carolina wide receiver Steve Smith, and he doesn't expect to be seeing much of Orlando Scandrick Monday at Cowboys Stadium.

Scandrick struggled in his first start of the season against the New York Giants, against their Steve Smith and Mario Manningham. I also had him for four missed tackles, which was surprising because he's normally a sound tackler.

"Ah, well, 32 I remember 32 because they've been playing him on ESPN pretty frequently," Smith said laughing. "I'm just being honest ... I'm not sure exactly about him by the scouting report we go, he probably won't be in because he's being played repeatedly on the rotation on ESPN, so I would expect Jenkins to play a little more than him."

I think Scandrick will bounce back from that game, but Smith is at least right this week because Mike Jenkins will start. And it's possible Terence Newman could follow him all over the field like he's done a times in the past.

"I like Terence Newman," Smith said. "He's a competitor. I think he's a great guy. I respect him. I think with a guy like that, playing against Terence I really have to pay attention and be on point. I can't have any mistakes because he'll take advantage of it."

Tony Romo doesn't talk

We would love to share with you some of Tony Romo's thoughts entering Monday's game against Carolina, but the quarterback did not make time for the media on Thursday.

He normally talks on Wednesdays but with the Monday game, this was supposed to be his day. Now, there's always Friday and Saturday for him to talk.

The only time I remember Romo not talking came a couple years ago when he was rehabbing from an injury.

Ouch lol. Knowing Scandrick though he's going to take this as a insult and only use it as motivation. He's a warrior. He had a poor game. He'll bounce back from it. But if Newman isn't on Steve Smith it better be because he's hurt. Newman is here to guard the teams best receiver.

Wow, I didn't expect anyone from the Panthers team to go there. Consider them F'ed up on Monday. Comments like these can make a team go from questioning themselves to one that is solely focused on destroying what is in front of them in a big hurry.

Thanks Steve!

I didn't either. Especially since they're 0-2 and their season is on the line.

If they play Scandrick on 89 it will be a train wreck. Smith breaks tackles a little more effectively than the Giant receivers and Scan didn't look like he could tackle me on Sunday night. We need to play Newman on 89 like we have in the past, and like against the Skins last year. We better well better be ready to stop their RB's.

Who said Tony was accountable to the media? Not much to say that he did not say right after the game.

I'm not going to worry about Scandrick to much at this time.I'm just going to write it off as him trying to make too much of an impression in his first start.I believe he wanted to be agressive enough in that start to relegate Jenkins to the bench. If he struggles with the same mistakes(undisciplined play) in week 10 I will then start to worry about him.

As far as Romo, who knows what he was thinking. He knows he is under the spotlight win or lose with this team. You talk and say the wrong thing you are drawn and quartered,if you don't talk at all it seems to be worse yet.Hopefully he will have a good game against Carolina.

Oh yeah Tony is pouting and being a baby because he didn't talk to the media today.

Last month, heck even last week, the line of thinking was players should shut up and not talk so much. Now one doesn't talk and he's pouting.

Or the fact that he's going to be forced to answer the EXACT same question every time.

"Tony, do you think you need to improve upon your performance Sunday night to beat Carolina?"

"Tony, what do you need to do to make sure an occurrence like Sunday night wont happen again?"

"Tony do you think the Panthers could study film and force you to have another night like Sunday night?"

...It's pointless to talk. Nothing good is going to come out of it. He just needs to focus on football and not let any of this media crap this week affect him. Because let's be honest, this week has been "**** on Romo week"

Fair enough, Smith is right. Doesn't have a reason to respect Scandrick yet, but hopefully that's just more fuel to Scandrick's fire.

Glad Tony isn't talking, nobody on this team should waste a minute with the media.

Scandrick has even MORE motivation to step his game up now (as if Sunday nite's performance wasn't enough)! That said, I'd be shocked if he and 89 were matched up for more than a couple of plays since Scan's back to slot duty full time this weekend...

Could care less if Tony never speaks another word to the media, or if any of the other Cowboys don't speak to the media.

Just go out and win damn it.

Steve Smith's gonna have a good game against us, they have been watching film of our defense this week and they must be laughing at our secondary. Receivers as good as Steve study film go see where out weak areas are at...which is everywhere in the secondary...gee can't wait till Monday night.

He vary well may.

I would almost guarantee our gameplan is to stop Williams and Stewart and have Delhomme beat us with his arm.

Smith may get his, but I dont see them winning.
