Why do you suppose TO is kissing up to McNabb?

please tell me why

I would like to take a shot at this... If I may...

TO went to Philly because he wanted a QB that would get him involved and was capable of doing so. TO wanted to win a SB with Philly. Thats why he went there. Mission ALMOST accomplished in his first year there. Wow.

Remember... he has the SB loss taste in his mouth... STILL.

I am sure he regrets things that happened... but he wanted it to work... until he saw how things work up there in Philly

The quote was just on PTI...they were pretty non-judgmental on it.

And the Daily Turd keeps messing up- or was it deliberate that they left the clarification TO put in later?

T.O. "CLARIFIES" QUARTERBACK REMARKS

Before Wednesday morning, no one had had much to say about Terrell Owens' decision to identify two NFL quarterbacks that he'd like to have on the team, neither of whom were named "Tony" or "Romo."

On Wednesday morning, we posted a little something about the latest T.O. faux pas (merci, Monsieur Tiki). Coincidentally (or not), Owens was finally asked about the situation on Wednesday.

And, of course, he didn't say what was said that he said.

Instead, T.O. claims that he was told by the interviewer that he couldn't include Tony Romo in Owens' answer to the question in question.

We're not sure we buy it. The question, as posed by Patrick McLeod of Panama City, was this: "If you could choose any quarterback in the NFL to be the No. 1 in Dallas, who would it be and why?" There was no "other than Tony Romo" limitation.

The initial answer was this: "Man, that's a tricky question. I don't want to cause trouble." And this recognition of the dilemma that arose implies that Owens was not asked to exclude Romo from his answer.

Granted, there is an ellipsis after the "I don't want to cause trouble" line. Perhaps the ". . ." was intended to exclude that the person writing down the answer said "other than your current quarterback" in order to keep T.O. talking. But if that was the case, wouldn't the interviewer have included the modification to the question in the final product?

Though we're sure that plenty of writers take unfair liberties, it's far too easy for the subjects of these stories to point a thumb at the person whose fingers hammered out the article. In Owens' case, it shouldn't be surprising. As one reader observed earlier in the day, "In today's world, where you can be misquoted in your own autobiography, inflammatory remarks must have video evidence."

I don't see Romo upset about any of this nor do I see a reason why he would be upset over the comment.

oh so now owens is the good guy out of that situation?

Isn't Pro Football Talk a gossip web site? I don't recall TO coming out and saying how he had to "clarify" or the "interview didn't let him do such and such".

PFT usually makes up stories(and puts quotes in people's mouths) along the way.

Follow me here....

--The DMN blog made mention of some comments TO made in an article, which was published last week, on it's blog site yesterday.

--PFT wrote an entry on its site today about 9:00a.m. EST- basicly giving TO the business about those same comments .

--T.O. clarified his comments which were then posted on the DMN blog about 12:00pm CST

--PFT then made another entry on its today about 4:30 EST basically talking about said clarification.

So what was made about any of it?

There was already some friction taking place when TO made simular comments when he was with Philly. In this case I don't see anything close to that. Pretty much a bunch of nothing.

Romo to Owens. TD.

get used to it, everyone's going to be hearing alot of it this season. bank on it.

regarding the TO thing..... I mother freakin love this stuff

1) it shoves some of you guys' idiotic BS right back up your ***
2) it once again proves why the media are slimey serpents and nothing more.

I'm guessing he's just keeping the door open to a reunion somewhere, some year.

If McNabb is injured again and misses a good part of the season, then maybe the Eagles don't bring him back for 08. And just maybe JJ doesn't resign TO when his contarct runs out and the two of them end up on the same team again.

I know it's far fetched and maybe I'm just reading too much into it. Maybe TO really has grown up and is sorry for some of the problems in his past.

I don't know which of these is the crazier option.

:D
