T.O.'s advice to Romo

For those folks tired of girly gossip, breathe easy. This post has nothing to do with Jessica Simpson.

T.O. said this morning that he'd advise Tony Romo to sit out Saturday if his bruised right thumb needs the rest.

"Be smart and realize that with the guys we have in this locker room, I feel like we can go into Carolina with Brad [Johnson] and win," T.O. said. "If it takes him to sit out a week to rest that thing, then I would really encourage that."

God I hope Brad Johnson is better than Matt Moore. Or else we made a really bad decision.

We would probably run the ball a helluva lot more with Brad Johnson's noodle arm in

Not exactly like Romo has a cannon, but Brad throws a pretty decent deep ball.

are we talking the same brad? IIRC training camp reports said brad could barely get the ball down field.

My thoughts exactly. No offense GoinForSix, but Brad Johnson can barely throw a 15 yard post, let a lone a deep ball. He is quite the opposite. Master of the checkdown in the flats.

Start Johnson and if he cannot get it done then bring in Romo. We need to know if Johnson can still get it done anyway.

You know, all the reports from TC were that Brad couldn't throw it 10 yards, but then in that last preseason game he did just fine.

Speculation was that he was just saving his arm during camp, and it looked like that was the case.

I'm just basing my opinion on him hitting Koren Robinson on some bombs in a Monday night game I watched a while back. I think the opinion may be a tad inflated but I did recall saying that he threw a decent deep ball.

The irony is just off the charts isnt it.

I think I have said this on here before but Babe laufenberg was real high on moore just like he was on romo after the first camp.

He couldnt believe they released moore to keep a 5th safety or a 6th corner. I remember him saying how foolish that was and finding quarterbacks is the hardest thing to do in any sport. So when you have one you make room for him no matter what.

Imagine if johnson played and we lost?

I remember delhomme beating us in new orleans in 99? 00?, where we never played well anyway but for him to beat us that year was sad.

not that it is worth anything but I saw him throw the ball about 45 yards during warmups the other day and he was very accurate.

not sure warmups mean anything though!

Warmups mean a lot on a forum where still frames of 3rd string QBs arm motions produce platinum threads.

If I may add.... it's also very important to many of us that we have a talented third string QB learning and waiting in the wings for just in case situation.

In the grand scheme of things these last two games dont mean EVERYTHING.

If Romo plays and hurts that thumb more and we win the last two games or one of the last two and GB splits there two.... then we have HFA throughout with a QB that cant throw the ball.

If Romo sits out one or two and we lose HFA advantage to GB.... atleast Romo could then be back to normal throwing the ball.

Which would you rather?

Of course if Romo is hurt, you got to let him sit. Can BJ beat Carolina and Washington, probably not.

Can we beat Green Bay in Lambeau, probably not.

If Romo is hurt worse than what is being reported, we are screwed.

Would you want a healthy Romo for Lambeau?

Romo is a Road Warrior.
Remember he not lost on the road this year.
Last year he was 4-1 on the road. Could have easily been 5-0.

So his road record as a starter is 10-2 (including playoffs)

You dont give Romo enough credit for his road capabilities.
