T.O.'s happiness isn't Tony Romo's concern

Tony Romo knows T.O. wants the ball a bunch. As Romo pointed out, all great receivers do.

However, Romo said he doesn't spend any time sweating over keeping his targets happy with the number of touches they're getting.

"You don't think about it like that," Romo said. "You don't try to keep people happy. You're just trying to throw to the guy who is open, try to throw to the guy who has 1-on-1 coverage. That's what this game is. You try to get it to the guy who is open and can get the most yards.

"We're lucky enough to have good individuals who understand if they have to sacrifice a little bit. ... Instead of Jason Witten catching 120 balls, he might catch 80 this year because he has a great player like 81 that's going to get his touches. That's just part of being on a good team."

T.O. knows his touches will come. He had two straight quiet games last season -- three catches for 33 yards vs. the Rams followed by two for 25 vs. the Bills -- and didn't go in the tank. Matter of fact, he responded with a scoring spree of 11 TDs over the next seven games.

T.O. has always said he doesn't care if he's getting the ball as long as the team is winning. If they're losing and not throwing him the ball, he's going to be pissed, but if they're winning because other guys(Witten/Austin) are making plays and he's getting doubled and tripled, then he's not going to raise hell.

Sure he got pissed in Philly when he wasn't getting the ball, because all they had besides him were scrubs who couldn't make any plays when given the opportunity. Same thing his last couple years in San Francisco.

Honestly, if I was T.O. I'd act the same way.

I really hate how the title of this Article will look in the Paper.

It's a blog entry. Prolly won't be published in the print copy.

Why does this "Romo forces the ball into TO alot" myth keep getting repeated?

TO is no different from Irvin-both are competitors who want the ball alot, but nonetheless are very good team players who want to win even if they don't get their desired stats.

Because when Romo gets under pressure, or feels like making a big play, he always goes for T.O

Nvm that T.O is the best WR on the team, and the best playmaker on the team. Nvm that T.O. is going to get you a first down on third down (if he catches that ball). Nvm that Aikman used to throw to Irvin in triple teams and no one cared

All that is irrevlant. Tony gets pressured throws to TO his best playmaker, and if it happens to be picked off, then it was Tony trying to force the ball to TO to make him happy.
