T.O. = Teammates (Won) Over

One rap that's dogged Terrell Owens for years is that he's a bad teammate, something that follows him all the way back to his days of battling for the ball with fellow Niner Jerry Rice. Well, we're here in the throes of the T.O.-Cowboy lovefest, so you can imagine how strongly that old sentiment is being rebuffed here.

And they got a anecote to back them up too. With 43 seconds left in Sunday's game, Pro Bowler Mat McBriar unleashed a 43-yard punt to dangerous return man Antwaan Randle El, who'd ripped off a 20-yard return early. Courtney Brown, in just his second game in the NFL and playing a vital role as a gunner on the punt team, came off the jam at the line and raced down to stop Randle El in his tracks. No return yardage there, and the Commanders started their last gasp attempt with 34 seconds left at their own 30.

After the game, Terrell Owens remembered this "little thing" that was actually a really big play, considering the circumstances. In addressing the team, Owens singled out Brown as one of the Cowboys' heroes in the win. Those words went a long way.

"It means a lot," Brown said yesterday. "He’s a classy guy, he’s been one since I’ve been on the team. Every part, small or big, he acknowledges it, whether it’s me or not. That’s the kind of guy he is."

And people always thought it was strange that all of the Eagles players (sans McNabb) would always show up at his parties, even after he left the Eagles.

Its his MO.... his "other" MO that is...

He has been praising teammates since the 49er days. Nothing new here.

That's a nice little read. When I was at the game I couldn't figure who # 27 was, then it hit me later. I think Courtney Brown will be our secret weapon on D soon enough..

Give him the ball, call plays for him, and pay him his money and you have a happy camper.

It doesn't matter what TO says or does the rest of his career. Some will always believe he is a locker room cancer and just tears teams apart. I was pretty much in agreement with that at first. It's obvious to me that he has changed and now I hope he can play another 2-3 more years with us.

I was not for his signing and last year, I wasn't very happy with his actions and things he said last year and prior years, however, I am extremely happy with how TO has carried himself this year. He is saying all the right things and acting very mature. So, big props to TO and keep it going and take us to the promise land.

Yes... but that perception will no longer be a reality if he continues to have success with us.

Like alot of things in life... you are more remembered for what you did last.... or "what have you done for me lately"

I think 2 or 3 Superbowl rings in the next 3-4 years on this team while handling himself this way will erases the old TO... maybe not from the city of Philly or San Fran but everywhere else.

The man is is putting up HOF numbers, mentoring young players (Sam Hurd), giving credit to teammates and coaches, etc, etc.

You can see the progression in the past year and a half... last year the media and fans were always talking about "when will TO blow up, tear this team apart."

This year? I haven't heard it once, maybe from Skip but we all know him.

There haven't even been hate-threads regarding TO this season, remember last year?!?! :p:

And besides, even Hos has come around to TO :eek: :)
