As JJT blogged yesterday, CB Adam "Pacman" Jones has impressed Wade Phillips with his competitiveness, evidenced by him lining up across from T.O. as often as possible.

T.O. enjoys the battles, too.

"Every day is going to be different depending on the feel of each individual," T.O. said yesterday. "Some days he'll feel a little bit better than me, and the majority of days I'll feel better than him. It's all in competition. That's just part of us getting each other better."

This was one of those "majority of days." T.O. absolutely dominated the matchup all afternoon, highlighted by him toasting Mr. Jones on a post for a long TD during 1-on-1s.

Mr. Jones acknowledges that he's still chipping off the rust from his year of unwanted "vacation." He figures competing against T.O. will speed up that process.

"It ain't gonna get no harder than that during the season," Mr. Jones said.

By the way, I'm referring to this fella as Adam "Pacman" Jones on first reference from now on. I'll respect his wish to use his first name, but if he signs autographs with his nickname, then we'll use it on this here blog, too.

Plus, Wade Phillips refers to him as "Pac" during press conferences.

That is probably 100% true.

I'm glad to hear that Jones is being given a lot of chances to line up against TO. This will certainly help him get more football ready in a quicker fashion.

I must agree with the blogger.

If you truly want the Pacman nickname to go away, than you shouldn't sign it.

Well ofcourse pacman will struggle against the most dynamic WR in the NFL. Pacman is practicing with the best. You think He will have a problem covering other Wr's after He sees T.O every single day?

I'm a Pacman fan, but TO is going to light him up like a Christmas tree. Never even heard TNew so eager to line up against that beast.

Come on TO, let him win a few to get his confidence up.

False confidence is a friend to no football player - enemy if anything. This is about as good a situation as Adam Jones could hope for.

He will be battle-tested when the live rounds begin to fly. You have to beat the best to BE the best.

Yeah I was joking when I said TO should let him win a few to get his confidence up, thought that was a given.

Understood. I was just remarking that this could be the best opportunity for Adam Jones, a guy not known for being short on ego, to become seriously grounded, motivated, and fully de-rusted.

I'd love to see him hang and begin to win a few more of those one-on-one battles with TO. Cuz if he can - he will give the rest of the league H-E double-hockey sticks.
