Georgia Tech's Jonathan Dwyer is hoping to keep a streak of sorts intact in April for the Michael Johnson Performance Center. Over the last two years, the center has trained the first running backs taken off the board in Darren McFadden and Knowshon Moreno.
Dwyer has a case, but Clemson's C.J. Spiller might be the favorite going into the NFL Scouting Combine. Dwyer had 1,395 yards and 14 touchdowns last season, which were better numbers than his junior year - 1,328 yards, 12 touchdowns - when he was named ACC Player of the Year.
Dwyer was a teammate of Tashard Choice's at Georgia Tech.
"He's a great guy," Dwyer said. "He's the type of person that always makes you laugh, fires you up, yells, screams all over practice. All I'd do was feed off him ... He would tell me what I needed to work on before the season and after the season. He's a mentor to me, like a big brother."
