The Cowboys will have a press conference to announce the re-signing of Terrell Owens today at 4 p.m. at Texas Stadium.

Yes, Texas Stadium.

When Owens joined the Cowboys in 2006, his introductory press conference was at Valley Ranch. You know you've hit it big when Jerry Jones wants to make the splash at Texas Stadium.

Wish the Cowboys didn't feel it necessary to protect themselves against a possible injury to Glenn's need which prevents him from playing and could also end his career. I do understand why they have to & feel sorry for Glenn until I remember he got $5M+ last year.

Anyway, hope he signs the waiver & can really contribute big time to the Cowboys for 1 more final big year. Reality is we don't have anyone who can step up and replace him; most of us understand that. Hurd & Crayton lack the speed to stretch the field & neither are big physical WRs (like Keyshawn) who can use their size to force separation; Stanbach is too inexperienced & Austin too inconsistent so far but we will see how things develop in TC & the preseason games.

I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you.

I see the writing on the wall on this one.

I would 'hope' Glenn would stay as well.

I would 'hope' that he could be healthy enough to play.

But the realist in me doesn't see either happening.

I can't believe how relieved I am that his deal got done. He earned it and I for one am not afraid to say I was wrong about the guy. I never doubted his talent. I did doubt his commitment to team. I no longer do. He has been a great addition.

I second that 100%...I was totally against him coming to Big D, but would be glad to eat my words. I have to say they taste really good!

Glad to have TO...and I admit it!

Me too!

Just bought his jersey in fact, something I never thought I would do.

He deserves this.

That's a relief.

For a minute I thought they were going to announce the trade for Matt Jones.

:lmao:

I knew when he first signed he was a dynamic receiver, but I too had my doubts about his commitment. He has been better than I thought in his 2 seasons and I'm glad he got an extention because he is a threat when he catches the ball. I've never seen a more dominating performance than this past years skins game when he killed them for 4 TD's

I concur with this statement. I would like to point out that I believe that T.O. has thrived here, in part because of Jerry Jones. Jones takes a lot of heat as owner/GM, but this would have never happened if he wasn't a risk taker, and wasn't wearing both hats. On top of that he has provided T.O. with the one thing he seems to have been looking for all along, respect.

I'm not sure whether this extension will ultimately be good for the team, or not, but realistically, I think it is a bit of a hometeam discount. If he can play at 90% of what he has the last couple of years, it will be money well spent.

I completly agree. I did not want this guy here at all. But now I can't picture the team without him. People make fun of his crying after the playoff loss, but that showed his commitment to Tony and the team.

Anyone know if this is going to be on audio only? I thought press conferences were done by video. On dallascowboys.com they have it only for audio and have two guys talking but no video or Jerry Jones.

Was also very disappointed the PC wasn't televised. Something must have gone wrong cause I just can't believe Cowboys didn't plan to do that.

Also count me as one of those who opposed the TO signing. I was just so concerned that he'd destroy our young team in the lockerroom. And then, we still had Bledsoe at QB. I would have gone nuts worrying about the trouble he could have caused a newly starting QB like Romo. Instead TO must have said his prayers cause there's no way Bledsoe could do (at his age) what Romo can do.

It was televised live on the NFLN and covered pretty well on Sportscenter and Total Access this evening. I enjoyed the Pacman questions and answers as well. The huge bowl of popcorn was the topper. Man that thing was HUGE!
