I. No matter the network, whenever I'm watching a game on TV and there is a Cowboys injury, I always immediately go to The Ticket's radio broadcast .They seem to take a little more interest in getting the word out on the injury in a timely fashion.
II. Having authored Thursday's definitive front-page Dallas Morning News story on the history of the Cowboys-Salvation Army halftime alliance, I paid particular attention to Thursday's show. The Jonas Brothers, I'm thinking, are an acquired taste.
III. Note to Chris Fowler, who called Texas 49, A&M 9 on ESPN: Longhorns freshman Malcolm Williams of Garland, may be listed as 6-3, 225, but he is not a tight end. He is a wide receiver. And while we're on the subject, defensive end Henry Melton of Grapevine did not start his Longhorn career as a fullback. He was a jumbo-sized tailback.
IV. Somebody (how about you Celina's Craig James?) should tell Fowler that everything is bigger in Texas.
V. I hate to hand the NFL brilliant free TV advice but I have the perfect solution to the debacle of keeping Detroit in the annual Thanksgiving rotation. Put the Lions' game on the Thursday NFL Network game at night where the fewest number of people will be subjected to it.
VI.. And then as a favor to the people of Detroit, don't allow a local over-the-air station to simulcast it.
VII. After all, how many of us really watched the Cardinals-Eagles game? It was, however, an inspired choice by the NFL schedule maker. Two teams with bird nicknames playing in a turkey of a game.
VIII. Call me sappy but I actually like it when CBS and Fox show the behind-the-scenes men and women who work on their Thanksgiving Day broadcasts.
IX. Fox's Jimmy Johnson during the post-game said he thinks the Lions shouldn't waste any time hiring a consultant to get them out of their mess. Then his Fox teammates didn't waste any time in nominating him for the job. You don't suppose they are feeling cramped on the set?
X. More face time during the Texas-A&M game? Will Muschamp or Colt McCoy's parents _ Brad and Debra _ and girlfriend Rachel Glandorf. ESPN could have done Baylor a service and mentioned Glandorf is a student there.
