RE: AFC East setting the tone

Reader Saint Jimmy points out the Cowboys' schedule will be harder because of the fast and furious action of the AFC East. That's a good point.

The Cowboys will play the Patriots and Jets at home and travel to Buffalo and Miami for games. They last played the AFC East in 2003 and split those games. They would take a split again.
Just a guess but that Patriots game will be on Thanksgiving with CBS televising the contest this year. That would be a ratings bonanza, I would think.

Agreed, new england, the jets, and buffalo are going for it. Miami is in rebuilding mode, but it will be tough to beat them in the heat. Hopefully that game is somewhere around november or dec.

Honestly, we SHOULD take 3 out of 4.

I thought we would beat the Jaguars and lose to the Colts last year, so it just goes to show that you never know.

I have been saying that schedule next year is going to be extremely difficult. Think about if the pats trade for moss and then they have two number 1s to use also.

I disagree with archer though, I think we will play the jets on Turkey day.

I think that new england at Dallas game will be a sunday nighter. Turkey day gets good ratings just because, so no need to waste it on the pats.

anyway though, moss vs owens and romo vs brady is enough to draw an enormous audience on the opening sunday night game of the year.

I have a friend who is coming down for that game and I cant wait till the schedule comes out, he is the only real pats I have ever met...looking forward to the game.

also just for more info on why I think we will open up on sunday night at home against the pats. Romo left off with that awful play on nbc, so putting him back in the spotlight right away is great tv and also we have not opened up at home since 03.

Great, maybe Davis can crush their newly signed linebacker (Thomas) into the ground while we rush for 230 yards. :laugh2:

Dallas hasn't played at Miami since 1996 - the infamous Jerrah/Jimmy bowl when Switzer's boys beat Johnson's boys 29-10. That game received some serious hype if y'all remember. They had t-shirts and everything.

If the Pats trade for Moss, they would have to give up one and possibly both of those first round draft choices. Oakland asked for Green Bay's first and a player for Moss.

You've got that right.

There is no way to tell.

An injury to Brady and the Patriots could be in the dumper. And so on....

I hope the NE is not on Thanksgiving. I have several friends who are NE fans up here in CT. One of them is a season ticket holder and gave me the NE-Dallas tickets the last 6-7 years we've played up there twice.

We were all planning on coming to Dallas for the NE-Dallas game, but if its on Thanksgiving them we won't want to fight the travel plans of the nation on the busiest flying holiday of the year.

looks like I'm going to shuffle on to Buffalo for that game, what do you say Mwicki ? Juke ? Any other fans up in the North East want to meet up there ?

It's true that there's no way to know, but IMO last year the Jets overachieved like we did in 2003. I'm not scared of them, nor of the Fins or Bills.

Now the Pats? That'll be a tough game as always.

hopefully those will be good ,hard-fought games . I think the cowboys can beat each of those teams but i see us losing to atleast one . We're going to have a loss or two at sometime of course. I think i can look forward to a Cowboys Patriots thanksgiving day game.

Really? I thought Moss had a hellacious roster bonus pending and Oak was a motivated seller.
