Pre-training camp 53-man roster projection

I'll revise this list a few times over the next month. But I'm so confident in this list that I don't get at least 50 of the 53 right, we'll refund your blog subscription fees for August.

Fourth-round pick McGee will get plenty of opportunity to make an impression during training camp after primarily watching and learning this spring.

Choice is determined to prove he deserves a defined role in a loaded backfield.

Don't count out Oklahoma State product Julius Crosslin, who spent last season on the practice squad.

Phillips' blocking ability probably gives him an edge over Scott Chandler and Rodney Hannah.

Spencer has proven himself as a good run defender. He needs to show he can take advantage of pass blocking schemes focused on slowing down Ware.

My only observation here is that if Stanback gets so much as a headcold in camp, look for one of the other WRs to take his slot.

I think Jason Holley can beat out Sam Hurd at WR. He may even show better at WR in pre-season than Isaiah Stanback, but Stanback can contribute to special teams as a return-man and that might save his spot.

Injuries will impact this list. No way we go through all training camp without anyone on that 53 not getting hurt.

Very accurate list! Okay, well, very similiar to the list that I put together....

I think his proportions are correct, that those are the numbers that will be kept at each position. Always the chance for a superior performance in training camp leading to a surprise, of course. And the general rate of season ending injuries can always change it. Brewster's injury already has done that once.

I've been hearing around here that we'll keep 6 WRs, but I'm more inclined to think 5...then use the practice squad or some of the injury manipulations that all teams use.
Keeping two kickers hurts...but if it helps significantly with field position it would be worth it.

I know people are betting against him staying healthy but I really would like to see him do so. He is one heck of an athlete and hard worker. If he can stay healthy he could be a real good one.
