Critics are quick to point out the turnovers Tony Romo has made in Decembers past. One thing they rarely talk about is his health.

Romo is clearly doing a better job of protecting the ball this season. But he's also healthy. This time last season, he had just returned from missing three games with a bad finger and was dealing with a back and knee injury.

"Last year, I was probably as banged up as I had been playing football,'' Romo said. "That's a part of certain seasons. But this year I'm physically as healthy as I've ever been at this point of the season, so that's exciting.

"Because (when you're healthy) you hopefully play at the highest level you can, so that's a positive.''

I was thinking the other night that he was moving around as well as I have seen him move around in a while.

The ironic thing is he's been hit more this year than he ever has been, correct?

When you are healthy you can condition yourself properly, part of the reason Romo looked outta shape last season.

No homo but he looks like he's in the best shape of his life, and doesn't really look soft like he did much of last year.

This is something that is never talked about with regards to our past couple of December slides. The 2008 injuries to Romo are listed above, but remember in 2007 when he hurt his thumb in the home loss to Philly and then fumbled the snap in the Carolina game the next week? Granted, the 2007 team was a vey healthy team overall but the timing of the Romo and Owens injuries (high ankle sprain) so late in the season definitely hurt us in the playoffs that year. We all know injuries are part of it but maybe we will have better luck this year than last (hope, hope).

People forget that TO played in that game at like 80% and could barely cut. That and a lack of cohesion with Terry Glenn lead to a lack of big plays which were our bread and butter that year.

The game plan in that game was great but tey just didn't have the horses to pull out the tough win against a hot Giants team.

This year will be different.

We will be the hot team this time.

I think he's purposely gone down or given up on plays though more than we have ever seen him too, so the hits are probably not as bad (easy for me to say...)

Didn't Tony make it clear that he wanted to train harder this past offseason because last year he felt run down towards the end of the season?

Yeah. He said he slacked off on some of his training during the season because he was hurt and he thinks that hurt late in the year.

He's taken more sacks this year.

I'd argue he was beat around even more last year. Our OL blitz pickups leave much to be desired. I think part of the solution is getting rid of Flo, moving Free to LT, move Bigg to RT, move Gurode to RG and find a new center. Now you have a line with a finesse side, a power side, good athletes at every position and more overall football IQ relative to their position. I think the run and pass games improve dramatically.

Free Kosier Center (TBA) Gurode Bigg
