No sir, just the football mags.
I think they do...at least they do when college basketball brackets come out.

I think it's because he actually looks like a football player and not a regular Joe hanging out at the park.

Even when he's on the field, Tony looks like the guy you see at the park and not the stereotype of a football player.

Wierd. You think this picture makes him look more like a football player? I think it looks like they took a glamor shot of him and photoshopped a helmet on.

For certain issues they now have regional covers. Don't know if that's the case with this year's, but last year's SI NFL Preview had regional covers.

you are not a fan of the extreme close up yet you have 3 in your sig :bang2:

You can see the jersey numbers on all three pix. Not one of them is "extreme."

who do they have winning the east?

My guess is the Eagles but I don't understand where all the love comes from. I think they will struggle covering both of our TEs. Their linebacker corps seems a bit shaky.

True. It's just a marketing ploy to make more money (sort of how TV guide issues six different commemorative "Star Trek" covers).

I said the stereotype of a football player. The sterotype of a pic of a football player is serious, sweaty, etc.

Think about it, Ware is a beast but you always see him smiling when he's on the field. When I see his roster photo, I'm always caught off guard on how serious he looks.

Romo's best look is hat to the back, facial stubble, and smiling. That's not a football look. This SI pic attempts to be that.

At least he is being respectable and not wearing his hat backwards.:laugh1:

Almost wish he would have worn his helmet backwards :)

I bet he was laughing and rolling his eyes after taking that pic.

Why is he spending his time doing photo shots for SI? He should be reading his playbook.

Hopefully this will be the first of several covers this season, with the last one of him hoisting the Lombardi Trophy after winning Superbowl XLIV.

The dreaded SI jinx. Oh Noooooooes!!!

On another note, who was the last Cowboy to grace the cover of SI? I know BP was on it a few years back.

They're obviously attempting the cover jinx here. ;)

Kind of a weird photo, though. It barely even looks like him. Too much airbrushing?
Looks like it's 100% airbrushed.

I think this picture is trying to capture the essence of Tony's new and improved attitude towards his profession... :laugh2:

its refreshing to see him on a cover of a Sports magazine instead of US weekly, InTouch, and all the other tabs.
