Thanks for clarifying! I thought that was what you meant but when you rebutted the other poster's statement I believed you were trying to say we weren't penalized as much (which was actually true but I thought he was exaggerating just to make a point anyway).

edit: I think BP's last season (in which we were 21st & 27th by your research) is why we tend to believe Dallas was as much as a penalty magnet under Phillips as they were under Parcells.

In his defense (will not say that much) we were good at creating takeaways last year, and when he took control of the defense after week 7 we were good then too.

The first 6/7 weeks were horrible though. And our offenses habit of turning the ball over put us in 2nd to last in the league at -11

I'll gladly take the defense we saw in the last half of the season. Aside from Philly, that Defense was one of the best that has been fielded in a long time.

Aside form the last 5 quarters it played you mean. Those break downs in run defense were pretty horrid.

Yeah, but those two runs I'd put on players (as in Hamlin), not scheme. The scheme had guys in position to make a play, they just didn't.
