Even though the Cowboys scored 37 points, it's not surprising that a coach with a defensive background like Wade Phillips wanted to talk mostly about his defense.
Phillips talked about the pressure the Cowboys applied to the Falcons, which generated three turnovers (two interceptions and a fumble) and four sacks. It seemed like the Cowboys were headed for anything but after Atlanta drove 80 yards on the first drive of the game. The Falcons had just 210 yards in the final 52 minutes.
"After the first series, I think we established that we were going to put a lot of pressure on them," Phillips said. "I think you have to be able to make plays and we did that today. The pressure wasn't from anything that we don't normally run. The one time we did do something different, they threw a touchdown against us. We got the turnovers we are looking for and things are looking good for our defense.
"It was our best game overall. But that's also perception. When you beat a team that made the playoffs last year and came in here 4-1, that's impressive. We've won some other games."
