Not to mention that he played three of those five games very well.

"Mediocre" isn't the word I would use for him on special teams either. IIRC, he was second on the team in special teams tackles. That at least warrants a "solid" IMO.

He gets another year IMO. If he can't do it this year, its time to make room for a different young LB.

there's no reason to move him at all until his contract expires

quality depth and special team's performance wouldn't be cost-prohibitive given his salary, which isn't that big

Did he sign a five year contract?

I've been Punked, haven't I?

lmao..no.

I thought he had signed a shorter term contract. You're right, there isn't any need to get rid of him unless a) his injury and/or his ability continues to worsen. b) he receives some interest from other teams, and we've developed another player with equal or more ability. Even then, it wouldn't be likely. None of this should be contemplated until next year, however.

Theres no question about zachs' heart and desire to play the game and his leadership qualities are second to none, me personally, I'm not sure that I'd tie up a roster space with Thomas. I'm not sure what kind of contract he is looking for but I hope the cowboys stay clear of him.

Signing Zach would probablly mean the end of carpenter in Dallas and I'm ok with that too, but let's add youth and someone who'll be able to contribute all season. there is just too many risk with Thomas imo.

I don't see Thomas bringing anything to Dallas that isn't already there. Why tie up a ropster space for someone who is subject to headaches, concussions, and missed time.

LOL so much for the Pats trying to get younger in the LB position although i guess techincally if he replaces Seau they would be gettin younger haha sad. He would be a great fit for the cowboys cause we could use more experience on the D and he seeems to be a great locker room guy. Thomas still has plenty left in the tank
