Todd Archer E-mail News tips
For three years Wade Phillips and Cam Cameron ran the defenses and offenses for Marty Schottenheimer in San Diego.
In 2006, the Chargers led the NFL with 492 points under Cameron's playcalling and led the NFL with 61 sacks under Phillips' playcalling. How do you think those training camp practices went when the first teams went against each other?
On Sunday, they get to match wits against each other for deal..
Cameron, who had a horrendous one-year run as Miami's head coach last year (1-15), is Baltimore's offensive coordinator. He has been able to keep the Ravens in the playoff chase with a rookie quarterback in Joe Flacco. In 13 games, Flacco has 13 touchdown passes and 12 interceptions. But Cameron's done it mostly with a solid running game (Le'Ron McClain, Willis McGahee, Ray Rice) and the help of a suffocating defense.
Phillips has a defense that leads the league in sacks and has a possible Defensive Player of the Year in DeMarcus Ware. The Cowboys defense has not allowed a touchdown in three straight games.
So who has the advantage from knowing the other guy? It has to be Phillips, right?
