Some of you are waiting to see how Tony Romo bounces back from his poor game against the Giants.

Wade Phillips believes he already has.

"You are not going to have a star performance every game,'' Phillips said at his Friday press conference. "But even though he had that kind of (poor) game, we went 80 yards on the last drive the last time he had the ball for a touchdown to move ahead in the game.

"I think he bounced back in that game. I just don't think people saw it because we lost.

"I think if we had won the game, if we had stopped them defensively, it would have been, 'wow, Tony had a bad game, but like Buffalo, he came back and won it.'''

You know, normally I'm against Wades's rose colored "everything is alright" glasses, but I think he hit it spot on here.

Granted, that last drive was all on the ground, but the 3rd down to Witten was big.

The whole story would have been different if that tipped pass hits the ground on the Giants final drive. Oh well. That's football. :D

IIRC that was only a 3rd and 6? Could be wrong tho.

It was 3rd and 4 as I recall. They still would've had 4th down to keep the chains moving..........

Man ! that is karma , isn't it? the got all the bounces going their way , Amazing.

Pick happens and WR whiffs to tackle , it turns pick 6
Fumble happens , and it is recovered by Gints
Ball bounces of TEs feet right in the arm of safety who is trailing him badly. If he was running stride for stride , no chance.

Then the 3rd down pass , batted at line of scrimmage gets in to the hands of WR. If it was not batted probably it is probably hitting the ground.

Go figure ! :bang2:

Wade is right. Tony is very resilient.

No matter how bad Romo is playing, like in Buffalo, I am confident he can turn it around. He reminds me of (gasp!) Staubach in that regard.

Romo, IMO, is a winner. A flat out winner. I would much prefer we have the ball in the hands of Tony Romo with the game on the line than our defense. Its pretty rare Tony doesn't come through when we absolutely need him to.

I'm confident that he'll prove that again in 2009.

I really wish Wade would shut up ..... every time he tries to make a point it sounds like "13 and 3" ..... even when he is right.

Exactly. People need to take a closer look at that Ravens game from last year. I was very proud to have Romo as the QB in that game after a not-so-good start. He drove us down twice when it was absolutely necessary and took a beating. If the defense had just...

Why does he even have to say anything. It sounds like a guy trying to convince himself of something. Not even convince others but only himself.

Wade deserves nothing until he can produce the ONLY thing he is still around for.

A decent D.

face our weak-*** secondary (at least on that night)

I'm with you 100% Zrin. Even if he is right, it just sounds like one more example of the excuse maker par excellence. I still say the guy (Wade) is a loser.

Show me an 'excuse'. This is pure FACT. I'm not defending Wade's tenure here one way or the other but this is complete truth.

And................. did your READ your post? How can a percieved truth, on your part, be construed as fiction all in the same sentence?

What I mean is that I'm tired of Wade's hypotheticals. "If we had won the game, if we had stopped them defensively, if the ball hadn't bounced off Witten's foot (which he said in his press conference), if the batted ball hadn't been caught by their receiver.... and on it goes.

So that, even when Wade is right, it just sounds like more hypothetical dreaming.

You are right, in that it wasn't an excuse (poor choice of words by me), but I guess I'm just more into "you are what you are", than "what if this had happened?"

Btw, I agree that Romo plays to the end no matter what, and who can't like that about him? And he WILL bounce back Monday.

Mis-understood your post. Apologies. I can see your point.:
