The Giants have a reputation as one of the league's elite pass-rushing teams. They haven't lived up to it lately.

As Newsday's Tom Rock points out, New York has only seven sacks in the last five games. The Giants, who had 30 sacks in the first half of the season, were held to one sack in Sunday's loss to the Eagles.

Maybe the lack of depth -- the team lost its top two pass-rushers from last season when Michael Strahan retired and Osi Umenyiora blew out his knee -- has affected the Giants during the latter stages of the season.

"Our defensive line against just anyone's offensive line, I don't think there's anybody that can block us," Justin Tuck told the paper. "No excuses. We're just trying to find a way to get back to our rhythm and get back to being the dominant defensive line that we know we can be."

This would be a good week for the Giants to get back to it. The primary reason New York walked out of Texas Stadium with a playoff win last winter was the pressure the Giants put on Tony Romo.

With Corey Proctor starting at LG, looks like this could be the ripe for their picking that gets them going again!:bang2:

Romo's still been sacked only, what, 11 times all year?

False.

Crayton, Reeves, and the officiating did more damage than the Giants pass rush.

I don't think you remember that game too well. We were pretty good at protecting Romo in the 1st half but those adjustments the Giants made they just killed us in the 2nd half. We just couldn't do anything. Then Barber had 120 yards in the 1st half and ended the game with like 130+. Give credit where its due.

Crayton hurt us more by dropping a critical play that very likely could have gone for a TD if not a VERY long gain. And stopping on a route that, had he not stopped, would have been a touchdown. Crayton almost single handedly lost that game. He royally blew it. To this day I can't stand it when he opens his mouth and that game is the reason why.

If I had been coach, I would have cut him the next day. A message needed to be sent to the team that that type of performance in crunch time is NOT acceptable on my team.

Seriously, you're getting to be a gd broken record on this.

You think Tuck's gonna set the sacks record vs. Proctor.

We get it.

Honestly-we just flat out SUCKED that day. The Giants had some guy off the PS in their secondary, and we couldn't do a darn thing.

When Crayton gave up on that route, I was like, "So what?". Really-I didn't like our chances against Green Bay the next week, and for that matter too, I doubt we would have beaten New England in the Super Bowl(Randy Moss and Wes Welker would have went bonkers on us).

Otherwise, a very horrible week subsequently-Letterman, Leno, Conan, the chicks on The View, and even BILL MAHER were making fun of this team, and not to mention too the other 31 team teams MBs except for the Chargers were throwing a big party.

If it weren't for officiating, Dallas would win every Superbowl until the the end of time.

Typing on an iPhone to say: Crayton didn't quit on any route. You just don't know what you were watching.

While watching the second half of that game I came away with one over-riding impression: Dallas had owned the gints in the first two meeting last season. It really felt like the gints, particularly the d-line, were either going to nut up and finally beat up on Dallas or it was going to take their manhood, so to speak.
It seemed to me the gints played like if they lost to Dallas again, and got thumped by Dallas' offensive line again, they wouldn't be able to look themselves in the mirror for a long time.

False. The Giants earned every bit of that win. They outplayed us plain and simple.

Stop being bitter about the loss and just accept it.

The officiating wasn't all that bad, really-on our FG drive to open the 2nd half, our OL was either jumping offsides or Gurode was snapping the ball too late, but the refs didn't do anything. Ultimately, we were fortunate just to get points on this possession.

Other than that-the Giants really kicked us in the teeth in that 2nd half.
