The Cowboys, as we all know, have 11 picks in the draft this spring.
Here's a breakdown:
The Cowboys have only one pick in the first day of the draft, that's a second rounder, the 51st selection of the draft.
But the next day, Dallas has 10 picks, including a third rounder, the 69th player selected, the first pick of the fourth round, which is pick 101. Dallas also has another pick in this round.
In the fifth round, Dallas has three selections, then two more in the sixth and two more in the seventh, the 210 and 227 best players available.
Dallas should draft a safety or offensive lineman in the second round.
If you picked a safety in round two, get your lineman in round three.
The fourth round is where I find some defensive linemen. Of course, sometimes you have to get the best player available. But if nobody is of interest, get a need.
I think the fifth round will be important for the Cowboys? It's here where I think Dallas could go for a pair of wide receivers and a quarterback.
Last year's fifth round pick was cornerback Orlando Scandrick and he was a fantastic selection.
In the sixth and seventh rounds where you have a combined four picks, find the best player available.
Getting a corner is also important in the later stages of the draft. In 2007, the Cowboys drafted two corners in the seventh round in Alan Ball and Courtney Brown.
Maybe they do it again.
Of course, this can all change.
