Wide receiver stuff
A few weeks ago, I said Terry Glenn was the best receiver on this team.
Some of you, or so I remember, agreed.
Last night I was having a discussion with a agent who asked about the wide receiver position.
"Who's going to make the team?" the agent asked.
After Terry Glenn, Terrell Owens and Patrick Crayton, it's pretty much wide open.
Sam Hurd and Miles Austin, it would appear to have roster spots. Austin said he will return kickoffs with Tyson Thompson. Hurd, though improving, has a fight on his hands.
Draft pick Isaiah Stanback is going to get a long look by the coaches to make the team as a receiver/punt returner. Stanback has never fielded a punt during a game.
Hurd's advantage over Stanback is that he's good on special teams.
So Stanback has to knockoff Jamel Richardson, Mike Jefferson, Jerard Rabb and Jerheme Urban.
The Cows could keep five or maybe six receivers on the active roster.

Julius Jones with something to prove
Julius Jones is in the final year of his contract with the Cowboys and he's determined to show them just how good he is.
After rushing for 116-yards on only 10 carries in the loss to New Orleans on Dec. 10, Jones had 91 yards rushing on 33 carries the last three games of the season.
With rumors surrounding the Cowboys looking to deal their leading running back, Jones elected to workout in Arizona to avoid the distractions.
I like Jones. He's a good guy, but I believe he feels disrespected by the club. If he has a excellent season, 1,300 to 1,600 yard type season, he's going to bolt for another team.
Then again, I wonder if Dallas will feed Jones the ball. He carried 267 times last season and there were eight games where he carried the ball fewer than 15 times.
Marion Barber, who becomes a restricted free agent following the season, averaged 4.8 yards per carry and scored 14 rushing touchdowns.
It's going to be interesting to see how the team shares the carries this season with Barber and Jones.
Jones wants the ball 20 plus times a game to prove he's a elite running back.
