Will Jason Witten's numbers dip next season?

Jason Witten wants to minimize the drama while moving on from the T.O. era, so he avoided saying anything that can be considered remotely controversial while talking publicly for the first time since the prima donna receiver was released.
The perennial Pro Bowl tight end was complimentary toward T.O., whom Witten credited for some of his success.
"I think I was a better player because of him and what he brought to the team," Witten said..
Witten obviously benefited from T.O.'s presence in 2007, when T.O. had arguably the best WR season in franchise history and Witten had by far the best TE season in franchise history, establishing career highs in catches (96), yards (1,145) and touchdowns (7). Witten's numbers dropped across the board last season, in large part because of shoulder, rib and ankle injuries that bothered him all season.
Roy Williams will have to prove to opposing defensive coordinators that he demands double-team treatment. But there were already teams that schemed to take Witten away and took their chances against the Cowboys' receivers. New England's Bill Belichick, the game's brightest defensive mind, said as much after the Patriots' 2007 win at Texas Stadium.
Witten has excelled without a gamebreaking receiver on his team. His second-best statistical season came in 2004, when Keyshawn Johnson was the Cowboys' No. 1 WR.
If he has a quarterback who wants to get him the ball, Witten will put up numbers. And we all know how much Tony Romo likes throwing to his buddy.
Witten might never again catch as many passes and rack up as many yards as he did in 2007, but you can pencil him in for 80-plus catches and near 1,000 yards on an annual basis, regardless of the receivers on his team.
