You don't have to stretch the imagination to see a Cowboys-Chargers rematch in the Super Bowl.
As Wade Phillips said, "the best team lost" when the Giants walked out of Texas Stadium with a win en route to the title.
The Chargers, who started slow under Norv Turner and took off down the stretch last season, feel they're better than the team that knocked them out, too. CB Antonio Cromartie told DMN-ex Albert "Einstein" Breer of the Sporting News as much, citing injuries and miscues on "plays we should have made" as the reasons San Diego lost to the then-undefeated Patriots. And he has a point, at least with the injuries, considering LaDainian Tomlinson couldn't go after the first series and Antonio Gates played on a toe that required postseason surgery.
No disrespect to the Chargers, but I'm leaning strongly toward picking a Cowboys-Patriots meeting in Tampa, perhaps because Massachusetts native Breer has been poisoning my mind.
As far as tonight's game goes, LT and some other Chargers starters won't dress out, so let's go with the Cowboys by a 27-17 score.
