Todd Archer http://www.***BANNED-URL***/blogs/images/email-icon.jpg E-mail http://www.***BANNED-URL***/blogs/images/email-icon.jpg News tips

Wade Phillips has been in the NFL for more than 30 years so in many respects he is what he is.

He expects players to act professionally and do all the work that is expected. It is a wonderful philosophy that doesn't always work.

So Phillips said at the end of the season he will be a little tougher on some things. Since he is not talking we are not really sure what that means yet.
But can a coach change his ways?

"I don't know about radical changes but I think you have to communicate and adjust," Minnesota coach Brad Childress said. "You have to step away and see what you can do better. I don't think you ever stop doing that. But I think you have the things you believe it takes to put together a good football team."

And Brad Childress believes in Tarvaris Jackson. Best of luck with that.

Why is brad childress talking? I thought a gag order on head coaches was proper protocol at the combine?

I saw rex ryan and todd haley doing interviews on the nfl network earlier too..

Wait till there owners find out. They are so gonna get grounded.

There was a story saying Brad isn't committed to Jackson being the starter next season

Effective communication and adjustment is a result of coaches and players all being on the same page. Phillips is a good coach. The question is, "Can he be a good enough coach to instill a ONE voice only philosophy for his entire team"?

This is kind of ironic, we actually have to get coaches from other teams to give opinions about whether coaches on our team can become effective head coaches after 30 years. Because our veteran coach with 30 years experience isn't allowed to talk about the subject with the bad press men. Bad press men!

What is so difficult to understand?...Football is played on a field not in the press. Maybe if the other coaches were asked the same stupid repetitive questions they might follow the gag order themselves.

What is to report right now and it does not matter what is said it will be ridiculed anyway. So lets go about are business with evaluating the roaster, the combine, and draft boards. Draft the players we need, go through OTAs, mini camps, training camp, then we will do our talking on the field.

Meanwhile let me go do my job and we will stop trying to help you sell your papers.

right because that is what I want, the team to sell papers.

Thanks.

31 coaches must have nothing to say this week.

Would it matter if Wade said something or not? When he does talk people whine and complain now he is not and people whine and complain I don't see that coming to a halt until he can get this team over the top. So talk don't talk it does not matter

With everything that has gone on, this would be one of the times where wade could set a few things straight.

I guess I am an idiot though, and I mean that. I feel like I am in opposite land all of a sudden.

All the people who whined for years about this same thing are now happy the coach, who should be explaining a few things is gagged.

It must be me.

Lets see Archer make a piece on Childress for the combine and lets see how many hits it will get.

What can he explain to you satisfactorily? I mean, you've made your mind up about most things, like most people here, and anything he says that does not dovetail in your perception of things is going to be met with skepticism or scorn.

Glad he has realized it and quit feeding the monster.
