Hard Knocks always finds an undrafted dude with a realistic shot at making the roster. It appears that ex-Texas Tech WR Danny Amendola will fill that role this summer.
Amendola was mic'd up this afternoon along with WR coach Ray Sherman. Quote machine Patrick Crayton and Anthony Spencer were also wired.
Amendola really shined during the first couple of practices, highlighted by his diving catch of a deep ball on Day 1. He's been solid since then, but he'll have a hard time sticking with the Cowboys unless they decide to keep six receivers.
Sam Hurd and Miles Austin are the No. 3 and 4 guys, in no particular order. Isaiah Stanback, the ex-college QB who was a fourth-round pick last season, is the biggest threat of the bunch with the ball in his hands and has shown significant progress.
By the way, superstar columnist/blogger Jean-Jacques Taylor wants to make sure you folks don't worry about the lack of a stud No. 2 receiver.
