Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo runs onto the field before the Tampa Bay Buccaneers game at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida, Sunday, November 15, 2015. (Tom Fox/The Dallas Morning News)

The Cowboys are 2-7 but getting Tony Romo back. They also trail the NFC East-leading New York Giants by 2 1/2 games and both Philadelphia and Washington by two games.

So, it's no surprise the Cowboys are longshots to win the East, according to the latest odds from Bovada Sports.

Bovada, using money lines, has the Giants at +125, meaning you'd have to wager $100 to win $125. The Eagles are listed at +160, meaning a $100 winning wager would return $160. The Commanders are at +375.

But if Tony Romo's return can get the Cowboys on a roll to win the East, a bettor could get a great return on investment. Dallas is listed at +1,200, meaning a winning $100 wager would return $1,200.

I don't think they'll win the east. I just hope they beat the dolphins. I can't believe how many dolphins fans are talking crap saying dallas doesn't have a chance like they're a great team or something.

In my non-expert opinion as a homer for the Cowboys and someone who see the glass of water as half-full, I do think we have a chance to win the East. However, I rate it at less than 50%.

The Gmen and Eagles are no better than us, but have had better luck.
The Skins might end up being the best team when it is said and done.

If we put up a valiant effort the rest of the way, and sweep the Skins, I will still be disappointed, but as long as w sweep the Skins.....

In 71 the Cowboys were 4-3 with two teams ahead of them. They rallied and won seven straight then a SB. Granted 2-7 is a far cry from 4-3 but Staubach played most of those first seven if I remember correctly (without looking it up).

At a minimum we have to go 6-1 down the stretch.

We went 6-1 down the stretch last year with the only loss being that debacle on Thanksgiving.

Just make it interesting the rest of the year. I'll deal with the heart break if/when that time comes later.

Look at it this way-- Under Romo, Dallas was 12-1 in games last season that they led in the 4th qtr. This year, w/o Romo-- they have lost 4 games they were leading in the 4th qtr. This team has it's flaws-- but even w/o Romo and this team playing sub-par defense and atrocious offense-- they STILL nearly won 6 of the last 7. The only game they were out of was the NE game.

There is not a game on this schedule that scares me. We have a good chance to beat any team in the NFL-- Romo is THAT good. IMO-- it's absolutely fantastic that everyone is shoveling dirt on Dallas-- just means less pressure is on the team. They are going to rally on Sun and I have a feeling that the Dolphins are about to walk into the proverbial buzzsaw.

Then, a tough game against the Panthers-- but Dallas, at home, coming off a big W, on Thanksgiving (always an advantage for us on the short week)-- I think we make a statement and shock the NFL by beating Carolina. 10 days off from there to get even healthier, and we legitimately could have a head of steam rolling into Dec. Lots of football left to be played, and a VERY weak NFCE that has the NYG playing the NFL's toughest schedule down the stretch.
