Dallas Cowboys cornerback Brandon Carr (39) practices despite a taped up right hand, that will require surgery on Monday, during at training camp on Saturday, Aug. 8, 2015, in Oxnard, Calif. (Smiley N. Pool/The Dallas Morning News)
OXNARD, Calif. – Cowboys starting cornerbacks Orlando Scandrick and Brandon Carr participated in both team and individual drills on Thursday.
It was the first full practice for both players since Aug. 6.
Carr had right hand surgery on Aug. 10. Scandrick has been dealing with a knee injury.
“Yeah, I’m 100 percent,” Scandrick said. “I wouldn’t be out here if I wasn’t. I feel good. I feel like I’m ready to play football.”
“I didn’t really feel it today,” Carr said. “It felt pretty good. I’m going to keep doing more and more with it each day and get it back stronger and get ready for game time.”
Carr, who still has the stitches in his hand, was wearing extra padding in his glove.
“It’s tough sometimes sitting back, watching practice,” Carr said. “The guys are having fun out there competing, making plays, and we’re all trying to get ourselves back on the field. Got an opportunity to be out there today and it felt good running around, both of us, just to get back in the mix of things.”
With Carr and Scandrick back, the Cowboys return to having good depth at the position. And those two bring a combined 14 years of NFL experience.
