In this game only two things matter. One being the play of our defense and two being the play of our special teams. Yeah, offense scores points and we have a lot of weapons but Paul P had a great saying of "don't put your house payment in someone else's back pocket". They don't score they don't win. You go pay your own bills and what better way to do that than versus the number 1 defense in the NFL.

Special teams is simple no big plays and set up good field position. Side note the has only been one to finish number one in total defense and win the Super Bowl, who would that team be?

Simply put we have to out play their defense, a very, very good one at that.

this is the kind of talk I like to hear. Not field conditions. Not who is banged up. Not who is going to sit out due to injury. Just show up, leave it all on the field and the score will take care of itself.

Were not the '92 Cowboys rated #1 in total defense while winning the Bowl?

I hope the entire Cowboys defense has the attitude that KB mentioned in his blog. All week long we have heard nothing but how great the Steelers defense is.... How they dismantled the Pats... How they play so physical.

Yeah, we know they are good, but guess what, we aren't lining up 11 high school kids on either side of the ball. Man I can't wait for this game to get here! The Cowboys need to come out and play smash mouth football!

Actually, I remember specifically that it wasn't the Ravens. They were 2nd in yards to the Titans that year, even though everyone knew the Ravens were the better defense.

(The Ravens absolutely crushed the running game, forcing 3rd and longs and forced teams to pass, and obviously pass yards are easier to gain than Run yards overall, skewing yardage totals).

It's one of the reasons why using total yardage is a BS way to rank defenses.

That sounds right, but man that Ravens defense was sooo sick that year.

Yes, they were, and with how many Pro Bowlers on the Cowboys defense that year?

ZERO!!! That's right, they won the Super Bowl with the #1 ranked defense, and had not a single player on that D go to the Pro Bowl that very year.

The '85 Bears were #1.

The '92 Cowboys were #1.

The '77 Cowboys were #1.

The '02 Bucs were #1.

The 1st associated with the 92 Cowboys was an NFL Rushing Champion's (Emmitt) team winning the SB.

First he's lighting guys up, now he's coming up with inspirational quotes. :laugh2:

Not to ruin your joke, but I'm sure he meant Paul Pasqueloni (sp?) former LB coach, not the punter Sam Paulescu.
