No matter what job you are in, you don't want to make less than what you are already making. And no matter what salary you get, you will be offended if you find out someone else is making more for doing less. Ignorance truely is bliss. The United States main export is entertainment and he is a sports entertainer.

If I know my dog is going to piss on the carpet, I don't let him in. I don't just allow him to enter and then get mad when he pulls a leg up on the couch corner.

That may be true but I don't want to hear millionaires whine about money. If you do fine but I think it is a joke seeing any person making the kind of money they make cry about it I don’t have much sympathy for them in that area, but what is even funnier is seeing people defend it. No one is twisting their arms to play in the NFL and make the money they do. These are so called college grads go out and put the education to use and see what kind of pay check you can get in the real world

Playing football is part of the real world.

I don't understand why fans aren't more angry at the owners. This good ole boys club is way more insulting than some athlete complaining about his salary. Owners will try and decieve the public into financing a new stadium (with the threat of relocation) under the premise that a new stadium will stimulate economic growth, all of which contradicts current economic research that states that new stadiums have very little net positive impact on a city's economy, and in some instances may have a negative impact. The public should not have to pay for a stadium, especially when the owner will recoup the costs of the stadium rather quickly (after selling the PSLs and naming rights). I think it is RIDICULOUS that Jerry Jones spent $1.1 billion dollars on a stadium that he publically admits could have been built for $700 million (obviously not as opulent at this price bracket). Cities want to sell the idea that a new stadium will provide civic pride and honor to its citizens. Why not try drastically improving the quality and safety of the public schools and then see how much honor a city can derive when a large percentage of its children have a college education and a good job.

Any job that is based on meritocratic principles, and not nepotism, is a real world job.
(Therefore, I agree that acting is not part of the real world)

Someone put it best in this very thread. Fair is fair no matter the salary gap. Fair needs to be universal. You are stating, at least from the above paragraph, that it is fair until a person makes in the millions. Then they should automatically be happy with what we give them and stop their crying because they have millions. I can understand why people can't relate but then that is called having a slanted view. You are not allowing yourself to look at things without being partial to your own side.

As I said I don't begrudge what they make but I don't want to hear them whine about it do you get that part of what I'm saying?

It is a joke to sit here and act like they are being treated poorly or being vastly underpaid, If you feel that way great myself when I see hard working people trying to make ends me I feel for them when I see a guy making million playing a game and he wants more I don't feel sorry for him.

If he gets it good for him but save me the crying and mistreatment act that some of them put on.

No need for to aim the bitter cannon at me. I hear, and get, what you are saying. I simply disagree with it. So was it that every channel you turned to had this as a headline or was it that you consciously went to a blog titled as such and/or a forum thread titled the same? My guess is that you read exactly what you thought you were going to be reading. As I siad, don't get mad when the dog pisses on your carpet..

So you are unable to remove yourself from your own bias? You are unalbe to disconnect yourself from John Everyman and look beyond that there are people in a catagory that we are not. Would you be upset to make $15,000 less than you do now? There are people on the street eating garbage that may feel you shouldn't care in the least because your life is infinitely better. There will always be people above us and people below us... but fair crosses those boundaries. they have, absolutely, every right to complain about what the other 80% of the population can complain about. Tell me what you make in a year and I will tell you if you are now ever allowed to complain about money. No? Probably because I have no business knowing what it is you make. And we really shouldn't know what they make either. Take away the dollar signs and a lot more of their concerns make sense.

Understood. But as I said, you were looking for that mistreatment act and then when you found it, you were offended by it. You simply got what you looked for.

I will defend those who I feel is mistreated and being taken advantage of I will not do that for people making million playing a game! This is a fricken game it is not life and death it does not do anything but entertain people. I don't begrudge them the money but I'm not going to feel bad because a guy only got 8 million and he wanted 10 million. If you do great but I don't confuse realities in life and those of some guys playing a game and getting paid damn well to do it.

LMAO... But is Doomsday going to those people and complaining about how hard he has it and what a tough life he leads?

Do you not see that difference?

And on reading thread titles... The title looks to me to be "Player Salaries". Not "I'm going to ***** about how tough we NFL players have it."

So people making millions can not be mistreated or taken advantage of? Are you seriously saying this or are you just saying that if they are mistreated or taken advantage of, tough s**t?

I would see the difference if it were there. But the internet is used as one major b***** fest and seems monolpolized by bitter souls blogging about why they are bitter. So that is no different from what he did. The difference is not nearly many people care about mine or Doom's life.

I'm not bitter. I just don't feel sorry for them and really don't care to hear their moaning about money. If a guy ask for 10 million and gets it, great good for him I'm happy for him. If he ask for 10 million and only gets 8 and then sits there moaning about it I'm sorry I'm not going to be upset or feel that he got messed over. If it is any consolation I would not feel bad for a Bill Gates when his deal with Yahoo did not go through.

Not to get off topic, but I hope someone emailed him about his dumb post. Someone obviously emailed him about the spelling grammer issues and he replied to it. I hope he counters and apologies for this blog.

Like I said, I liked all his post before this one, but this post is just absurd. Wait a second? Is this Greg Ellis loggin in to Kevin's computer? :)

I'm saying they are very well compensated for what they do. If you don't like it then too bad that is how I feel. You go cry for them I'm not. I don't know how else to say it.

I enjoy the games, I love the game itself but the business of football and sports in general has become a joke both on the players end as well as the managements end.

You want play college economics 101 be my guest but getting paid as they do for what they do I think it more than fair

If you read the comments on the blog, it's obvious he doesn't get it. He's still trying to justify what he said and defending his position.

For instance, someone called him on his "we risk our lives" comments by correctly pointing out that they had a spouse who really was risking his life in Iraq, and all Kevin could say was that oh no, he wasn't comparing his job to war.

I'm thinking Kevin should stick to covering backs out of the backfield and nursing minor injuries and leave the blogging/commentary to someone else.

He's in over his head.

I can't believe there are people agreeing with him. Must be groupies. I hope Burnett makes it to the first team. He should write about how he can't seem to make it on the first team or how he has been a disappointment to the general fans thus far. Throw in a "I'm an overpriced backup linebacker" also.

Exactly right. The blog was great when he was talking Xs and Os, game prep, etc. He needs to get back to that ASAP.

And maybe some day Kevin can take Zach Thomas out for a Pepsi and see if he agrees with his thoughts on the game and money.
