BOULDER, Colo. – After a too-close-for-comfort encounter with Colorado's massive mascot, nothing was about to bother Texas running back Chris Ogbonnaya.
He scored two first-half touchdowns, including a 65-yard catch-and-run on Texas' third play from scrimmage, to give the No. 5 Longhorns a 38-14 win over Colorado.

Texas improved to 5-0 for the first time since its national championship run in 2005. Quarterback Colt McCoy was 23-of-30 passes for 262 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions.
Ogbonnaya happened to be standing on the Texas sideline when Ralphie V – a living, breathing buffalo – made its horseshoe pattern run before the game. As the large animal passed a few feet away at top speed, Ogbonnaya didn't retreat.
Then on Texas' first possession, Ogbonnaya galloped down the sideline.
McCoy dropped back on third down and sprinted up the middle, only to see the opening quickly close.
As he was being tackled, McCoy flipped the ball about 5 yards ahead to an uncovered Ogbonnaya, who sprinted untouched down the sideline.
The replay showed that the ball crossed the line of scrimmage, although McCoy's body remained behind it.
Texas added another first-quarter score when McCoy rolled out and found Jordan Shipley from 16 yards out behind Colorado defender Cha'pelle Brown.
When Ogbonnaya scored on a 13-yard run with 1:04 remaining in the first half, Texas had a 21-0 lead.
Ogbonnaya did a little bit of everything. He ran down Colorado cornerback Jalil Brown at the Texas 16 after Brown appeared on his way to the end zone after a first-quarter interception.
"I made a good read and put myself in the right place at the right time," Brown said. "There was nothing but green in front of me at first, but they are fast. One guy had the angle and closed quick."
Colorado kicker Aric Goodman hammered a 43-yard field goal attempt off the left upright, one of three misses in the first half that could have given the Buffaloes renewed hope.
When Texas converted a Cody Hawkins fumble into a Cody Johnson touchdown in the third quarter, the lead grew to 28-0.
Although the defense allowed a touchdown for the first time since the third quarter of the Rice game, it also knocked away five Hawkins' passes.
Ogbonnaya finished with six catches for 116 yards and 71 yards rushing on nine carries.
Briefly: Johnson started at tailback and finished with 27 yards on 11 carries, bulldozing his way to two short touchdowns in the third quarter. ... Freshman running back Darrell Scott, who chose Colorado over Texas, suffered a sprained ankle in the game. He had four yards on two carries and caught two passes for 45 yards.
