How many sacks will it take in the first eagle game to lay McPuke out? How many for his favorite soup, "Campbell" for the RedStinks?

And, Eli? He will be scared chitless!

Yeah 50 is what id want as well.

50.....a nice round number. It would also be nice to add another 30-40 QB pressures. :D

Just think Pops, Ware and Spencer meeting at McGimp once or twice a season for the smackdown.

Seeing that would make me feel 25 years younger. :D

For every sack the Cowboys get, add 25 peas to the salad. Tasty, if good...

If you offer me a million dollars to guess right, I'd have to go with 55 sacks.

I do think were more than capable to surpass 60.

I would expect Ware to get some serious sack totals.

But Spencer has a long and steep learning curve. He'll be lucky to get 5 sacks this year.
He does have a long and steep learning curve...at playing linebacker. In terms of simply rushing the QB the curve is pretty flat. All accounts have been that he's just fine at rushing in TC.

And a 40-sack season is really no big deal. Each year close to half the league gets to that figure. In the 12 years since the Cowboys had their last 40-sack season, 25 teams have had at least four of them.

Argh. :banghead:

Tell that to the .50+ correlation coefficent that sacks have had to wins in the NFL in the past 5 years (which means that sacks have a strong correlation to winning in the NFL) and the fact that 21 of the last 24 teams that went to the Super Bowl had at least 40 sacks in the regular season....with two of those teams finishing with 35 and 38 sacks.

On average Wade's defenses have seen their sack total increase by 27% in his first season with the club. That projects to 43 sacks.

If Dallas gets 55 sacks, it will be an extreme rarity that they don't go to the playoffs and that they don't win the division. They'd probably get at least a 13-3 record and be one of the favorites to go to the Super Bowl.

The magic number truly is 40, but after that the top sack leading teams usually go no higher than 50 sacks in a season.

I hope your prediction is right, but defenses like last year's Chargers and Ravens are pretty rare.

I'm hoping for a lot more than we had but just as important as the sacks itself is be able to bring consistent pressure, that is how you’re going to force the QB into making the major mistakes like throwing off the back foot and trying get rid of it before he wants.

To prevent myself from being extra and trying to out-due everyone on here, I'll accept 45 sacks if you give me a ton and I mean a ton of pressures. Those pressures are the one's that will cause interceptions, and those sacks can result in tons of fumbles.

So I want both, sacks and pressures.

I agree with you on Ware, but Spencer is a pure pass rusher, there is no learning curve when it comes to that, look at the Bears rookie who had 12 or so sacks as a 2nd day draft pick. I'm not saying Spencer will see those but theres no reason he cant get more than just 5 on the year, especially if Ellis struggles.
