Little free agent news

Ok, not much is going on today with the Marc Colombo talks.
He could re-sign tonight, tommorrow, next week or maybe never.
There's a certain point where the Cowboys will tire of these talks with Colombo and move on.

For now, the team and the starting right tackle are still talking.
Colombo's agent, Ken Kremer, declined to comment on the talks with the Cowboys when we called him about ten minutes ago.

If you're worried about someone else taking Colombo away, well he has no visits scheduled with any team right now.

That really paints a picture of the Cowboys holding all the cards. I honestly find that hard to believe. Does the knee remain that balky to keep other teams away and the Cowboys from providing enough sweetener to close this deal?

Maybe moving McQ, Fabini or Proctor into a starting role is less unsettling to the Cowboys than it is to me. I'd sure like to have the stability of Columbo at RT and then let the draft come to us.

Maybe it's past time for Colombo to consider a new agent......

Teams aren't exactly lining up for a visit much less sign him.

SPECULATION: If the Cowboys started freaking out about losing him, he would have 10 visits scheduled by sunup. By laying low, other teams may be thinking "if Jerruh doesn't seem to mind losing him, he must still have a health/other issue"

as each passing day, I get the feeling Columbo will be our starting RT next year again

unless he is pissed at the 'boys and decides to sign elsewhere to spite them

or it could be that everyone has looked at film of him and isnt as excited about him as some of the people on here are

I'd like to see him back, but not at any price...he was a decent RT, nothing more

Who would you replace him with David?

I dont think its out of the question that either Davis or McQuistan could be our RT

or maybe a draft pick

McQuistan.....maybe, but I would prefer we give him another year before we start him. Davis will be an all-pro at Guard. I would like to see an experienced Tackle signed but, for the life of me I don't see anyone available that's as efficient as Colombo.

probably agree...just dont want us to break the bank to sign him

but if resigns we open up a ton of options on draft day...everyone seems to think we might move down, bu if we have most of our needs already taken care we open up the possibility of trading UP and getting an impact player

It would most definitely be to our benefit to go into the draft with as many options as possible at our disposal.

Signing Colombo would no doubt give us those options.

This is very strange...........why does Columbo have no vists planned?

If he was pissed at Dallas for low balling him, why has he not at least visted another team. You would think that would give him a little more leverage to scare Dallas into upping the offer.

No visits either mean that teams are scared off by his knee or that his agent if freaking ******** and wanting a billion dollars.

Strange...........

I'd let Fabini and McQ compete for the job. No way in hell do I let Davis play RT.
