...5.) Jeremy Mincey. Two years, $3 million with $500,000 guaranteed. This year’s salary: $1.5 million. Mincey was an absolute bargain last season. He was a captain that started every game and led the team in sacks. He turned 31 in December, so this could be the defensive lineman’s final season with the Cowboys. Either way, Mincey has been worth every penny up to this point.
4.) Travis Frederick. Four years, $6.8 million with $5.5 million guaranteed. This year’s salary: $1 million. Like four of the five on this list, when a team gets a valuable starter in the draft, their rookie deal becomes very team friendly. Frederick has started every game at center since he was drafted in the first round in 2013. In 2014, he made the Pro Bowl.
3.) Zack Martin. Four years, $8.9 million with $8.9 million guaranteed. This year’s salary: $827,627. Martin has only played one season and he’s already arguably the best offensive guard in the league. He started every game in 2014 on his way to earning first team All-Pro and Pro Bowl honors. Martin finished second to Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. for NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.
2.) Tyrone Crawford. Four years, $2.7 million with $575,000 guaranteed. This year’s salary: $675,000. Crawford is in the final year of his rookie deal and no one should be surprised when the Cowboys finalize a long-term contract with their starting three-technique defensive tackle. As long as Crawford stays healthy, he’s in for a big pay day.
1.) La’el Collins. Three years, $1.6 million with $1.6 million guaranteed. This year’s salary: $435,000. When a team signs a first-round pick to a rookie free agent deal, that’s usually going to be an exceptional bargain. To compare, Washington’s Brandon Scherff was the first offensive lineman drafted this year. He recently signed a four-year deal worth roughly $21 million with a $13 million signing bonus. If Collins makes anywhere near the impact Martin and Frederick have, he could be the NFL’s biggest bargain.
