Cowboys DE Spears: 'We're not the prettiest bride in the church right now either'

Cowboys defensive end Marcus Spears said don't fear, Dallas won't overlook the winless Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.

"Well we're 2-2, so we're not the prettiest bride in the church right now either," Spears said Wednesday. "We just got to go play. We have to play hard. In this league, anybody can beat you. We found that out last year in St. Louis. You can't have any mental letdowns and I know the guys on this team are ready to play and get back on the field and get that bad taste out of our mouths."

I think our defense will play well Sunday.

I want to see Barber and Choice run the ball down the Chiefs gullet.

I really believe that team needs a breather. A breather in the sense. Just win the game from the jump.

Send in the defense HARD AND OFTEN. NEVER let them in the game.

I'm going to go into every game now expecting us to lose (expecting, not wanting)

I'm nearly done with this ****ing team (at least as long as Wade is coach)

You don't really think that will happen do you? The way this team has us programmed I'm sure Matt Cassell will have flashbacks to his New England days against us. smh

This is not knocking you but I ALWAYS go in thinking we are gonna win. Its weird but I dont feel like we are going to lose until some point in the game. ie. Giants game I felt us losing it. Honestly I though we had the Broncos game.

I know what you're saying, it's just I am seriously sick of the up-and-down nature of this team

every other week it's "we're going to correct our mistakes and move on" or "we've gotta do this better" or "that" better... only to see us blow a game once again

it's getting very tiresome and it's killed me emotionally to the point where I'm numb.

you just said exactly how I feel towards this team. the game isn't gonna be on in my area and i'm considering not even trying to watch it on the computer or going to a bar. I might just watch the Patriots whoop up on the Broncos(real football teams)

..................and every other week it's a different phase of the team. This is why I'm leaning towards a coaching issue.

BTW - Perfect Spears. Perfect choice of literay devices that symbolizes this teams' mental capacity.

I don't think a win in KC will get that bad taste out of my mouth!

I want to see Garrett air it out again, so that Romo has at least 4 picks.

That way we'll lose, and end the season with a worse record, and end up with a higher draft pick that the new HC and OC can use to draft a WR worthy enough of designing a pass-first game plan around.

That would also help keep the RBs healthier for next year also, so this would be a win-win all the way around.

Get 'errr done, Jerry!

maybe this is the year we start off weak but get stronger in the last half of the season and carry that momentum to the postseason.

Our defense should be solid and if we'll let our running game do it's thing we should be able to run the ball just fine on the Chiefs.

Thats how I feel, I go into every game thinking that we are going to loose, just the opposite of the way I used to feel when Jimmy Johnson was coaching the team. With Wade I feel even if we are winning late in the game, we will find someway to blow it.

I fee a similar way about Romo. I feel like he's going to turn the ball over on every dropback. I feel that it's minor miracle anytime he doesn't do something terrible.

I agree.

A few things come to mind.

Before the season, "Romo talking about change and this and that blah blah blah" - I wasnt buying it. I wanted to see it. Then I go to Giants game in Texas and he does what he does. I was fuming. Anyhoo...

I am sort of hoping/believing that things will come together in spite of Wade and Jerry. I think Romo can right this ship.

As long as Jerry's running the team no coach will have long-term success.

I sure hope so... I'm still a Cowboys fan and always will be, but the nature in which we are losing these games (killing ourselves rather than getting beat) is INSANE at this point.
